I don't know about you all but I think one of my very favorite things about scrapbooking is incorporating my hobby into all aspects of my everyday life. For example, take an ordinary recipe box or binder filled with recipes. Functional? Yes. Inspiring? Not so much.
For the longest time I have been wanting to create my own personal recipe treasury. A minibook that not only is functional (I can quickly browse the contents on those days where I just can't seem to figure out what to make for dinner) and a treasury of those recipes that our family loves, recipes passed down from previous generations and those same recipes that will be passed along again. And having it all in a pretty, embellished, attractive binder is icing on the cake.
Worked on designing the cover and inside divider pages over the weekend and have been creating the inside "recipe" pages off and on this week. It will be an ongoing process so I made up a bunch of "inside pages" and I can just grab and print as I have the time. I am including photos of my favorite dishes on each page. I don't have photos of all the dishes prepared yet but it doesn't matter. I went ahead and made up the page, leaving space for a 6x9 photo (I get mine printed at www.scrapbookpictures.com). As soon as I get a photo of the recipe I will include it on the page.
This will definately be one of those minibooks that is a work in progress. Something that will be added to over time. Maybe even a volume 2 will be needed in the future.
Just placed an order for some photos for a couple of the inside pages. I'll share a sampling of my favorites next week.
