Finally I am getting around to sharing the rest of my December Daily pages for 2011.

Had this little reindeer open from working on THIS tray so I cut it from some flocked paper and added it to my page for a whimsical touch. I strung some of the MME chipboard letters on twine for a cute banner to dress up the right side, too.

December Daily | Day 18, 19, 20, 21

With today's post I am current and can post today's layout tomorrow. ;)

Plus, if you are ready for something a bit more colorful and not so distressed (and in a 12x12 format) I would stay tuned for a new layout from me tomorrow featuring Kerri Bradford kits in a Christmas layout that is bright and fun!

Lots going on here with last minute holiday programs at school (my kids go until Friday...can you believe that? So bummed!) but we are spending lots of time after school doing fun holiday projects and spending time together. It won't be long now!

One of my favorite days so far this month. Even though it was so close to Christmas I'm glad we went ahead and put up these beautiful lit houses. The kids love them and I gave them free reign to add the accessory pieces and people figures. They feel a real sense of ownership over the Christmas in the City decorations and were so proud of it!

Today, I had to record my youngest two and their "punishment" for not getting along last Friday night. The photo kills me. Payton absolutely did not want to hold her brother's hand as per their punishment and Ethan was only too happy to hold her hand. It was hysterical. A good lesson learned.

I added some stamping from November & December's Studio AE Stamp sets to a kraft strip of cardstock and sewed it in place with some cream lace underneath. Punched stars and chipboard buttons with stickers finish the page.

December Daily | Day 11, 12, 13, 14

Over the next few days I will be posting my December Daily pages a few at a time. I got a bit behind when my printer decided it no longer wished to print my photos correctly. Joy. Ah well, such is life! We are enjoying the holiday season and that is what matters!

I kept it super simple. Full page photo with die cut overlays jazzed up with some vellum and a chipboard star. I used a digital brush to add the quote from an Ali Edwards' kit at Designer Digitals and printed my journaling on a tag and stapled a group of tags underneath the quote.

A December Daily page about me. I rarely remember to include ME so I today I took the opportunity to do so!

I used a bunch of the brads that I removed from my Day 3 Page to embellish the snowflake die cut overlay. I added a chipboard poinsettia adorned with gems and twine as well to add color and interest to the playing card print and cut.

I happned to have the envelope I made awhile back (click HERE) and I decided it would make the perfect compliment to today's page so I added it right next to my photo strip. Easy peasy.

Added a bit of stamping to the MME chipboard tag and a few embellishments in a cluster.

Printed a bit of journaling on an Elle's Studio tag and tucked it under the top of the envelope to finish this quick page.

Hello catch up day! 

First, day two:

I couldn't share earlier this week because it featured my projects I made for THIS blog post showcasing Kerri Bradford's and Lori Whitlock's die cut designs.

I used Kerri's Snapshot #1 kit to create the photo collage on the right side and my very favorite Making Memories tool from year's past, the notch tool. It hasn't seen any love from me in awhile and I thought I should recify that so it's been getting a workout again for my December Daily!

I "hung" the Echo Park chipboard ornaments from the top of the page and added some glitter and ribbon to the ornaments.

I used some wooden snowflakes from a recent Studio Calico kit add-on I just received last week. The natural color of the wood compliments my Dec. Daily perfectly. I used chipboard buttons adorned with string in the middle of each for a fun look.

The number 8 playing card is a digital print and cut by Kerri Bradford that I distressed up with my favorite (and now retired) Studio Calico cup stain stamp. I absolutely love, love this stamp and wish they still offered it. It's one of those that I still reach for time and again for distressed looks on my projects! I also spritzed both the playing card and the journlaing card with SC Clay and Shine Mister Huey Inks. I stamped a phrase from the December Studio AE stamp set, It's Ok on the journaling card with Stampin' Up Real Red Ink. 

I wish I would have taken more photos of the kids playing Uno today since the photo of my oldest is not great (caught him in one of those in between moments with his eyes not all open) but oh well. It is what it is and I am glad to have the memory!

I kept today's page super simple. Just a few extras and I used the MM notch tool again to "secure" or anchor my photo collage to my page. And hey, no kids on today's layout! This one was all about our employee Christmas party featuring photos of my husband and I (and the food and drink I consumed...hee!).

Today's page features the envelope and letters I made from THIS blog post awhile back. I ended up removing the die cut title I was going to use on the right side of the page and instead adhered my envelope directly to the page (the letters to Santa just tuck inside). Because there was so much going on with the envelope itself I only added a couple of chipboard elements and a button/flower and a couple stickers all collaged in the lower right corner. I popped the chipboard Santa head up with foam adhesive to better fit over the bulky ribbon.

Now, because my kids didn't actually write letters to Santa today (they did this a few days back), I didn't let that stop me from including them on today's layout. Instead of using photos of them penning their letters I added a full page photo of the frost on one of the trees in our backyard from this morning. I love the Christmas-y feel to the scenery style photo. I added some text directly over the photo before printing and then adhered my die cut date and a chipboard wreath sticker adorned with ribbon to complete the left side of the spread.

December Daily | Day 6

For the first time ever I am keeping up with my December Daily. I think at lot of it has to do with the fact that I did so much more prep work than I had every done before. It really does help!

Today, I wanted to focus on yet another tradition we have going on here at the Magouirk house and that is the daily advent calendar, this year courtesty of Playmobil. I only got one advent calendar and I'm making the kids share it. My oldest doesn't much care for actually playing with it but he does love taking his turn opening the box!

I have to say that it was a happy coincidence when I saw Ali's page 6 on her blog and saw that she was covering this exact topic (and even this calendar) I copied her idea of sharing the packaging in my December Daily. The addition of the memorabilia really ties the photos + story together. Love that.

I created a little collage of stuff on the right side of the layout, adding some Smash Tape to hold the Playmobil packaging in place. I added some red twine to my tag and also incorporated the button and flower from the SC December Daily kit with an old, old MM tag.

I used a small 2x3 photo over my 6x8.5 photo and also overlayed my die cut date. I added a tiny chipboard phrase too just to dress up the design a bit. I also stamped a phrase from Ali's November Studio AE stamp set using white Staz-On.

December Daily | Day 5

I have a little list of topics I want to be sure and include in our December Daily and today I was able to include one of those: the opening and reading of a Christmas/Winter book each night. 

I kept really close to the original page design sketch. You can see all the sketches pdf HERE.

I added some banners and a button to the left side of the page.

On the right side, I added a strip of white patterned paper to the top of the page. I stamped a phrase from Ali's November Studio AE stamp set along the top of the photo collage and tucked my print out circle accent (Kerri Bradford's Christmas Countdown kit) under the edge of the collage.

I used two of my favorite Stucio Calico mists, Clay and Shine on the print out Santa card and journaling card. I also stamped a phrase from Ali's Season's Greetings stamp set in red ink on the santa card to give it that finished look.

Day four was all about finishing up my holiday decorating. I chose to touch on decorating the tall tree in our entryway with close up photos of the ornaments and also the Command  hooks and products that I loaded up on this season.

After I finished the right side of my page (and spritzed some SC Mister Huey Clay Mist on my journaling tag) I decided the big snowflake on the left side was too white so I misted the whole side of the page with Clay Mister Huey, really lightly.

I also stamped just a small portion of the long list of holiday words from Ali's Season's Greetings stamp set along the bottom edge of the left side of the spread.

December Daily 2011 | Day Three

You may be asking what happened to day two? Well, the page is done but I can't share it quite yet because I used photos of some new projects I cooked up for Kerri Bradford's Blog this week and we want those projects to be new when they appear on her blog, kwim? ;) So, I'll share the finished day two page on friday of this week.

For my Day Three page I did a full page photo for the left side of the spread with a photo of my little guy in front of his very own Christmas tree in his room. My kids all do small trees in their rooms and this is the first year he got his own tree. He was thrilled, to say the least. So proud of his tree and proud that he decorated it himself.

In the original I had used more vintage-y feeling brads for my snowflake centers. I switched some of those out for my finished page because they just didn't go with my photo. I had contemplated using some Vintage Actions on my photo for a more sepia toned effect but I really, really like the color, feel and mood of the original so I decided to use more colorful brads and some glittered chipboard stars to help tie the 2 sides together instead. Don't be afraid to change things up to match your photos if you need to. 

I used a combination of printed journaling (right on my photo) and a stamped phrase (from November's Studio AE). To stamp on my photo I used white Staz-On.

December Daily 2011 | Day One

I have been tweeting about my lack of motivation regarding the holiday season and how my poor tree has been sitting in front of our front window, undecorated for a couple of days.

Yesterday, when I picked the boys up from school (Payton was home sick), we set about rectifying the lack of decoration decor and adorned our tree. Ethan was so super excited and went on and on all afternoon/evening about how decorating the tree is his "favorite thing to do".

My journaling tag (Project Life) was a little too stark white compared to my vintage-y feeling page/album so I spritzed it with a bit of Clay Mister Huey (my new fav!!!) before adding it to my album. Perfect. I used the 1/8" corner rounder to give my photobooth strips just a tiny, tiny rounded edge.
