Stencils are a great way to add dimension without the bulk. Layering ink colors adds even more dimension. Today I'm showcasing some of the new Mommy Lhey Pigment Inks used to create "water" and "sand" for this underwater mermaid scene card.
To create the background of my card, I started with a 4" x 5.25" piece of Lawn Fawn Cardstock, taped the Simon Says Stamp Waves Stencil over the cardstock and generously applied the Mommy Lhey Sea Breeze Pigment Ink using a sponge dauber. Next, I added a bit of the Mommy Lhey Beach Bum Pigment Ink here and there to give the water background a bit of an ombre effect.
I die cut some kraft cardstock using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Die. I gently sponged on some Mommy Lhey Tainted Brown Pigment Ink with a sponge dauber and then added additional detail to make "sand" with a stardust pen and white glaze pen.
I stamped the mermaid, fish, and seaweed images from the Mommy Lhey Magical Sea Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I colored in the images with Copic Markers, adding detail with white and black glaze pens and the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Marker. I fussy cut all images and adhered them to the background as shown.
I finished the card with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh clear droplets attached with Zots Bling Glue Dots.
