well, I don't know about you all but we are definately starting to feel the holiday spirit here at the magouirk household. yesterday was spent digging decorations out of the storage room, setting up my (smaller) tree in the dining room, setting up payton's tree in her room (it's pink!), taking down some of our 'regular' decorations and starting to replace them with holiday ones and making a checklist of new items we'll be needing to complete our decorating and gift giving this year. whew!
Along with all the regular decorations to put up and gifts to buy, I also have some things I want to make this holiday season. Some things are for gifts and some things are projects for our family....things I've been wanting to do for awhile. With the release of so much new 'holiday inspired and themed' product being released I thought it would be fitting to share some of my holiday project goodness with you all this holiday season. :)
So....
each week on monday morning I will share a project that is meant to inspire you, enable you to create something of your own this holiday season. You don't have to play along every week but I would love to see your creations. Let's share the holiday spirit, good will and friendship this wonderful season.
I love, love getting christmas cards in the mail (especially ones with photos.). For years I have been meaning to start an album with the collection of holiday photos we recieve from friends and family each year. this is the year. I had a great KI Holiday album just sitting on the shelf. I grabbed it, some of my favorite holiday product collections (KI, more KI, SEI, more SEI & MM), gathered up my photos from each year (luckily I had placed each year's photos in their own sheet protector) and got to work. I still have about 4 years of photos left to scrap (or 4 double page spreads) but just to have it started and easily accessible and ready to work on makes the creative process so much easier.
My challenge for you.
Gather up those greeting cards and photos and pick out some product to create an album of your own. Start simple by scrapping last year's photos first and work backwards. Use a sketch idea book (like Becky Higgins) that will help you scrap multiple photos on a 2 page spread or create your own. I guarantee that your family will cherish this album as much as mine does. The older kids love seeing how friends and family members have changed over the years. While you work, pop in your favorite holiday cd, download new tunes to your ipod and feel that holiday spirit!
And when you've created a layout, or a cover, etc. share them here. I would love to see what you create!

check back later this week as I will add additional layouts to my album.
can't wait to see everyone's creations!
