Cute monster bags, Nichol. The planet bag is super cute and I'm thinking you meant your son learned Astronomy, not astrology!

I totally meant astronomy. Thank you! Thats what I get for typing in a hurry! Fixed it! :)

I absolutely love these! They are adorable! I am new to the scrapbooking/silhouette scene and am looking to buy one, I am just getting used to what people do with them and such. I was just wondering- how did you color in the little monster stamp? It looks like you printed it out and didn't use a stamp! Sorry if you say that in the video, youtube will not load for me! :) (I was wondering this when you posted the owl valentine's day card as well!)

Hi Jamie!
The owls and the monster were created using 2 totally different techniques.
For the monster, he was colored in with colored pencils and then I used Gamsol and blending stubs to smooth the colored lines out (that is what is shown in the video, sorry youtube wont load for you!). I get the Gamsol blending stubs here:http://www.inkyantics.com/acc1.htm.

The owls were created by stamping them first on my card with black ink, then I stamped them a few more times on different colors of patt. paper, cut out the different pieces and adhered them over that first stamped image (so basically just paper piecing them together). Hope this helps!
Let me know if I can answer anything else!

Jamie-Lynne Joyce

Thank you so much! That definitely helped a lot. I'm sure I will have many more questions in the future :) I love all of your work! Have a good day!

I loved learning how you colored that stamped image in.....guess I need some gamsol...hobby lobby?
(and yes, that was me that posted under ki...was still signed into typepad as ki, oops!)

hee! ;)
JDM suggested the Gamsol here:http://www.inkyantics.com/acc1.htm so thats what I bought (and the blending stubs). Ive looked at my hobby lobby and couldnt find the gamsol (but they do have blending stubs in the markers/colored pencil/etc. aisle). Hope that helps! (it makes coloring image A LOT more fun...and pretty!).

These bag toppers are sooooo cute. I did not make anything this year. We had a family member in the hospice care the past two weeks:(

Again, love your ideas and designs:)
