I am absolutely thrilled to be the guest designer for Lily Pad Cards today! Not only are they the nicest people ever but the sheer amount of talent and ideas on this blog blow me away. I am a huge fan. :)
How about some new card shares... five new card shares!
First, I have been dying to use the Papertrey Ink Friendship Jar Spring Fillers stamps since I bought them a few months ago. I am in love with the entire collection of Friendship Fillers and the spring set is no exception!
I stamped the jar (PTI Friendship Jar) and flowers (PTI Friendship Jar Spring Fillers) directly on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock (4x5.25") using Memento Tuxedo black ink. I added the text background (PTI Background Basics Newsprint) using Antique Linen Distress Ink. I just stamped over the entire image, not bothering to mask anything off. Next, I stamped the "water" (PTI Friendship Jar) inside the jar using Hero Arts Soft Pool Shadow Ink. I stamped the "string" (PTI Friendship Jar Spring Fillers) to appear as if it's tied around the jar using Stampin' Up Melon Mambo ink. I colored in the flowers with copics (linked below) and then using the Ranger Ink Blending tool to add Antique Linen ink to the entire image.
I added a stamped greeting (PTI Mat Stack 3 Collection), sewed buttons randomly and adhered the piece to a Hero Arts notecard.

It's almost the end of the school year here and so I am needing some teacher thank you cards. I loved the apple in the Lawn Fawn My Silly Valentine Stamp Set. Paired with PTI stamps and dies and an Ali Edwards stamped greeting, the copic colored apple really stands out. :)
I stamped the Simply Chartreuse cardstock (PTI) with the Hero Arts Thank You Definition stamp using Stampin' Up Kiwi Kiss ink for a tone on tone look. layered Spring Moss and Simply Chartreuse cardstock (PTI), distressed the edges of the Spring Moss string and stamped the greetings (Ali Edwards) using SU Basic Gray ink. The machine stitched edges give the border a more finished look. Punched and layered half circles secured with mini brads complete the border.
To create the die cut, stamped and layered design, I first die cut the Mat Stack 4 die (PTI) from Neenah Solar White cardstock then stamped the coordinating stamp design (PTI) using Jenni Bowlin Cough Syrup ink. I die cut the green scalloped circle (PTI) from Simply Chartreuse cardstock and punched the circles from Smokey Shadow (PTI) and Solar White (Neenah) cardstocks. I stamped the apple (Lawn Fawn) using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the image in with copics (linked below). Googly eyes and some rustic twine (PTI) finish the design.

I can never have enough birthday cards on hand so that I have one when I need it. I chose to go with a brightly colored card for those summer birthdays coming up. Lots of layers and stamping.
I trimmed the Hawaiian Shores cardstock (PTI) to 4x5.25" and embossed it with the By the Numbers Impression Plate (PTI) before distressing the edges. I layered Orange Zest Saddle Stitched Ribbon (PTI) and Hibiscus Burst Topnotch Twill Tape (PTI) at the top of the card, added a 1" strip of vellum (embossed 1/8" from each side using Martha Stewart scoring board) stamped with greetings (Lawn Fawn) using white ink. I folded one edge under the mat and one over the top, securing both ends with the Tiny Attacher.
I die cut the doily (MFT) using Aqua Mist cardstock (PTI) and punched a 3" circle from white cardstock (Neenah). I stamped the circle (Family Cirlce by TT) using SU Melon Mambo ink. I punched a 2.75" circle from a post it and layered it over the stamped circle so that it would mask off the outside of the stamped circle. Then I stamped the Happy Definition (Hero Arts) with Chicken Feed Ink (Jenni Bowlin) and stamped it over the masked shape. I stamped the cupcake, plate and candle (Lawn Fawn) on white cardstock (Neenah) and colored in with copics (linked below) before cutting out and assembling on the circle. Bright buttons finish the design.

Here's another little birthday card. I trimmed a notecard to 3" wide x 5.5" tall and layered it with cardstock and this cute MFT stamped girl holding a balloon. MFT die-namics die and coordinating stamps create a cute coordinating greeting.
I trimmed the snow notecard (Hero Arts) to 3x5.5" and matted it with Pure Poppy cardstock (PTI) and added punched borders from Smokey Shadow cardstock (PTI). I stamped the My Balloon stamp (MFT) using Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored her in with copics (linked below). I used the feathering copic technique to add "grass", then masked the image and stamped over the whole thing with the Clouds background stamp (Hero Arts) using Soft Pool Shadow Ink (HA).
I die cut the label (MFT) from white cardstock (Neenah) and stamped it with the coordinating stamp using Cough Syrup ink (Jenni Bowlin). I added the greeting by coloring the stamp with Memento Markers (black & bamboo leaves). Divine Twine and gems complete the card.

For this last card I wanted to do something a bit more elegant and not quite so playful. A simple inked background and stamped greeting with a die cut felt flower make for a lovely presentation.
For the background, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock (Neenah) and stamped the Flower Burst Background (HA) using Versamark, then I heat set it with white powder. Then I inked the piece with Barn Door, Scattered Straw and Wild Honey Distress Inks (Ranger) using the ink blending tool. The embossed area resisted the ink and I wiped off the excess ink with a paper towel. I matted the inked piece on Harvest Gold cardstock (PTI) and distressed the edges before adhering to a snow notecard (HA).
I stamped the greeting on Rustic White Cardstock (PTI) using Cough Syrup (Jenni Bowlin) ink and layered thin strips of the same cardstock along the top and bottom edge and then machine stitched down each side. I die cut a scallop border (MFT) from Pure Poppy cardstock (PTI) and tucked it under the greeting border.
I die cut the Rolled Rose (MFT) from Pure Poppy felt (PTI) and created the flower. Using a button and string, I secured the flower and adhered to my card. I die cut the leaves (MFT) from Simply Chartreuse felt (PTI) and tucked t hem under the flower.
