I created several cards featuring Copic Marker coloring for the October 2011 issue of Scrapbooks, Etc. for an article about stamping/inking special effects.
Over the next 3 days I'll share my cards but I thought I'd kick off the sharing with a little giveaway as well. Scroll down to the bottom for a chance to win the October issue of the magazine (plus some extra goodies!).
Here's the first card showcasing this cute chair stamp and sentiment from Hero Arts!
I absolutely adore 6x6 paper pads and they created the perfect card base and die cut label for my stamped and colored chair.
I cut a couple of strips from the 6x6 sheets of My Mind's Eye Stella Rose patterned papers and adhered them to my card base, added punched scalloped borders, then die cut a Papertrey Ink Double Ended Banner, stamped a greeting and adhered it where the "seam" of the two papers/border met. Because the border banner die wasn't quite long enough to go across the entire card, I cut it where it would be hidden behind the label die cut to give it the illusion of being longer. Easy peasy!
I die cut the Tim Holtz label from another coordinating patterned paper and inked the edges with Distress Ink. Then I stamped the chair directly on the label using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
Next I stamped the chair on Neenah Solar White cardstock and then colored in the image with Copics. Once I was happy with the coloring/shading, I cut the chair out (I didn't worry about cutting around the chair legs since I had already stamped the chair on the label) and adhered it right over the stamped image on the label.
A button tied with string and a few gems finished the card.
