Project Life Week 5 features the first time I've incorporated an insert! I had more stuff than pockets this week so it was time to break out the 6x12 insert to give me a little more real estate to work with!
Week 5 layout:
Lots of 4x6 landscape photos this week. I didn't even plan it. I always try to remember when I take photos to make sure I get a "good one" so that I can just pop it into the pockets on the sheet protector but... I never really remember. So this was a happy accident this past week.
Instead of using one of the filler cards included in the Clementine Edition Core Kit I die cut a phrase from Kerri Bradford's Life Editions #2 kit (already perfectly sized for the 3x4 pocket!) and I layered it on black cardstock for a bit of dimension without the bulk. I didn't even attach the die cut to an insert, I simply popped it in the pocket, letting last week's journaling card's back serve as the background. Easy peasy!
And here's that 6x12 pocket insert in action.
Just like last week, I had emailed myself a bunch of the Zodiak Facts that I follow on Twitter. Things that either pertain to my husband or myself. These are the kinds of things in the past that I would have emailed myself and eventually deleted because I didn't really have a home for them. I love that Project Life gives me that forum to include all the bits and pieces of my life as I'm living it. Whatever is on my mind or important to me at the time has a place here. Love, love, love that.
To make my insert, I simply cut one of the Clementine patterned papers in half and ran it through my printer. I added a Jillibean label sticker to the top as a kind of "title" for my insert.
As I flip the insert here's a look at the right side of the weekly spread. I had to include my new profile pic photo because, well, I simply don't take that many photos of myself. I have been making a concerted effort to take a photo of myself at least once a week. This week I actually have 2! ;) Love that my iphone makes taking photos of myself so easy. Basically I just love my iphone, though.
To include the additional photos from an event I took the kids to on Thursday, I used a Kerri Bradford photo collage from THIS kit (it and all her photo collages are 30% off today, see below!). I love how easy photo templates make adding a bunch of photos to any scrapbooking or memory keeping project. I just adhered my collage to the backside of the Zodiak Facts page (no need to use an additional sheet of paper), added a couple of stickers and voila!... DONE!
Even though I highlighted taking the kids to see the Harlem Globetrotters for Thursday, I wanted to record this as well: I had found a pair of sunglasses that I thought I had lost (they were misplaced for over a year) and I was super excited to have found them!

Quick Project Life Tip:
If you're like me and you're die cutting elements/titles for your pages, try die cutting several week's worth at once. With a little planning, it saves you so much time. I am die cutting about a month's worth at a time.
