Hello crafting friends!

It took me forever to come up with a card design for Lila. I don't know what my problem was but I started and discarded multiple cards before settling on this one. I think it's the fact that I haven't even touched my craft room in well over a week so it took me some time to work out the kinks and find my groove. Once I picked out this adorable hedgehog baby stamp the card came together fast. :)

Even though there is a lot going on with this card it is still fairly flat and is easy to send through the mail. Love that. 

I used my favorite MME 6x6 Paper Pad (see supplies below) for the background of my card and distressed with Studio Calico Mister Huey mists. The label was created with Papertrey Ink stamp and dies and I stamped, colored with Copics, cut out and pieced the Penny Black hedgehog image together on top of the label. Stamped greetings, punched flowers and a little glitter pen here and there finish this sweet little card. :)

Project Life 2012 | Week Fourteen

Working my way through the last few weeks of Project Life. Printing photos. Handwriting journaling. Gathering memorabilia. I'm keeping it pretty simple in order to get caught up and get it done. Plus, I am realizing that I might want to start limiting some of the bulkier embellishments so I don't end up with too many albums for 2012! I love the stamped journaling cards and die cut pieces, though, so I'm keeping the "embellishment" mostly to my paper, stamps and die cut choices. :)

Here's my Week 14 Project Life spread:

Left side:

I chose to leave the 4x6 and 3x4 "windows" with the die cut shapes from last week open here so that they are still "see-through" from last week's spread.

I used a birth announcement we received in the mail in one of the photo pockets. I really enjoy the memorabilia aspect of Project Life. Things that I may have just thrown in a box before or thrown away now have a "home" in our PL album.

This week I was able to use one of my very first custom journaling cards I created way back in February. You can see that post HERE.

Right side:

I love the 3x4 card with quote from Jillibean Soup so I used it as a "filler" on my page. :) I love finding ways to incorporate pieces from my stash that might not get used on a regular scrapbook page. And I love the companies that create 12x12 sheets with cut apart pieces that are perfect for Project Life.

Really loving the look of stamped journaling cards. I'm thinking I need to make a few more sets of these to have on hand. Plus, it's such a great way to just play with stamps.

KBS | Graduation Cards

It's that time of year again... graduation time!

I always like to try and personalize my graduation cards for the grad and these are the ones I made for the graduation announcements we received this year.

I love that with Kerri's Graduation Kit you can customize the card or scrapbook page layout with the graduation year. 

I also try to match the colors of the cards I create with the school colors for even more individualized style.

I kept these easy by keeping the same design throughout all four cards but changing up the colors.

The inside of the card was finished with even more stamping.

And the card itself is from the Silhoeutte Store:

I folded mine so that the pocket was on the inside left so that the stamped greeting and my handwritten greeting would be visible when the card is opened.

Project Life 2012 | Week Thirteen

Over the next week or so I will be sharing quite a few weeks' worth of Project Life layout shares. Finally getting everything caught up now that life is a bit more manageable. ;)

Week 13:

Left side:

I used a Kerri Bradford template for the 4x6 photo collage of my youngest son.

I implemented my custom stamped journaling cards this week. I love how they personalize my album and pages.

Right side: 

With the busy schedule of this week, I missed taking photos a couple of days. To make up those empty spaces I die cut 3x4 and 4x6 shapes from the Silhouette Store from kraft cardstock and spritzed them with white Studio Calico Mister Huey to distress 'em up a bit.

Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit | Thank You Card

Thank you cards are always good to have on hand to send at a moments notice. ;)

I used the elements from the Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit to create this beautiful thank you card.

I die cut the butterflies from the papers and vellum included in the kit and layered the larger ones together to make a layered butterfly to place in the center of my die cut rosette. I adhered the whole thing in the center of the other doily included in the June Kit.

The stamped banners were created with stamps from the kit and die cut with THIS die from My Favorite Things. I simply scored the banner and wrapped it around the included pins before stapling them in place.

Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit | Wedding Card

Happy Monday!

I've got another card share for you today featuring Simon Says Stamp's June Card Kit. This may be my favorite kit so far! To see another card I created with the June Card Kit, click HERE.

June is wedding season and I always like to have a card or two on hand to give the new couple. I love the sentiment of the greeting stamp from the kit. So lovely. I went with a cream/aqua/black color combination for this romantic love-themed card.

I used heart accents again for this card. And gems. And my new very favorite flag banner die set from My Favorite Things: Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics. There is a banner/flag perfect for any greeting in this set!

I used the Kool Tak foam adhesive to adhere the stamped and cut out heart for a bit of dimension.

(even more) Custom Stamped Journaling Cards #ProjectLife

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope that all mothers are having a fabulous day full of love and good memories.

Yesterday I shared a bunch of stamped journaling cards I created for my Project Life album HERE.

I wanted to have even more options and so I created the following stamped journaling cards to add to my collection!

The travel-themed set:

I combined of travel-related stamps for these cards. I also pre-stamped several cards with the destination we will be traveling to as we have several things planned for the next few months. Now I have cards stamped and ready for my album! I love the idea of stamping these for every vacation. Even if you aren't doing PL I can see stamping a bunch of these to use on a layout that highlights your travels for a year. Wouldn't that be fun?!!!

The framed-up set (perfect for insta-gram photos or journaling):

I wanted to see how these frames all looked stamped up together and I love them. These are great to have on hand to just add a quick instagram photo or cropped photo and slip into the pocket on your sheet protector!

The "quoted" journaling card set:

I thought the travel-themed set was my favorite until I did this one. They are just so colorful and fun and I utilitzed several stamps I had in my collection but hadn't had the opportunity to really use yet. (i.e. the boy and girl silhouettes, the thought bubbles and several of the phrases).

I love keeeping track of the funny, cute and sweet things my kids say and what better way to do that than by writing them down on funny relevant journaling cards. Love that you know the journaling will be a "quote". :)

Finally I have the flag/banner journaling card set:

There are so many fabulous flags/banners/arrows etc. in these stamp sets that I wanted to create a set of journaling cards using only those elements. I can add additional stamping later on if I want to or I can simply add my journaling and slip them in the pocket. Easy peasy!

Custom Stamped Journaling Cards #ProjectLife

What I'm discovering on this Project Life journey is that I prefer creating my own stamped journaling cards for my album in lieu of the ones in the kit. And that's ok. I have given myself permission to figure out what works best for me this year so that I keep it up and don't get too behind (don't laugh since I am more than a bit behind sharing). Now that I know that I will be stamping my own journaling cards pretty much from here on out, I can stock up on Becky's blank journaling cards when they are back in stock at Amazon.

As I have been printing photos and working on the last 5 weeks of Project Life to share here on my blog, I also took some time to stamp up a bunch of journaling cards, ready to be used. I love being able to just put my page together without having to work on coming up with the journaling card design right at that moment. I discovered this when creating the stamped journaling cards for the last three Studio AE Blog Hops. You can see those cards HERE, HERE and HERE. As I have put these cards to use and included them in my album, I realized that I could be making all kinds of journaling cards to have on hand. Duh!

Here is a look at some of the cards I stamped this week:

This weekly journaling card set was inspired by these Studio Calico Hero Arts days of the week stamps. I knew when I bought these that I wanted to use them for daily journaling cards and I finally got around to creating them! I really love how they look paired with the May 2012 Studio AE Stamp Set. The combination of block letters with a script font phrase is so fun. I also mixed in lots of other stamps from Studio Calico. Kelly Purkey really designs some fantastic stamps. They rock my stamping world. :)

I am partial to bright colorful stamping but these cards would look good stamped in any color combination to make them personal to you and your style and it will give them a whole different look.

This next set was inspired by the set of cards I stamped for the April Studio AE Blog Hop last month. I love how Ali's Hello Routine Stamp Set stamps and how the circle is the positive (colored) stamped portion and the words are the negative (white) part. It gives the journaling cards a real pop of color. Because I have already used all the ones I made last month, I decided I needed some more. :)

Again, I combined other stamped phrases for diversity and interest.

My final share today is something I have been thinking about for weeks. Weeks. I am a voracious reader (nothing too thought-provoking, to be sure. I'm more of a "fluff" reader. It's my relaxation before bed most nights.) and I would love a way to document that hobby in my PL album since my Nook is such a big part of my life. ;)

This is what I came up with. Several fun journaling cards created with a book border stamp from a past Studio Calico monthly kit and lots of other Studio Calico stamps, all with a story, book or reading theme.

Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit | Happy Anniversary Card

The Simon Says Stamp Card Kit gets better and better every month! This month's exclusive stamp set designed by the incredibly fabulous and talented Kristina Werner is my new favorite. The way she combines fonts and the greetings she's designed are perfect for weddings, anniversaries, thank you's and more! And the colors this month....divine.

Here's a card I created with the kit:

Both my parents and Chad's celebrate wedding anniversaries this month and the colors in this kit are perfect for a romantic-style card. In addition to the products supplied in the June Kit I used heart dies and punches, circle punches, pearl gemstones and a Tim Holtz Mini Clip.

And did I mention earlier how much I love this month's stamp set by Kristina Werner?!!!! Because it is absolutely incredible!

I used the included Stickles Glitter Glue on a few of my small black  hearts to add a bit of sparkle. And isn't the doily beautiful?!!! There are 2 of these lovelies in the kit. Love, love, love these.
