Sometimes a layout idea just takes shape and comes together without a whole lot of thought effort on my part. Today's layout featuring Kerri Bradford Studio die cut shapes is one of those types of layouts. Even though it took awhile to actually put together, the actual design time was seriously quick!
I knew that I wanted to create a 2 page design so that I didn't have to crop these 4x6 prints or squish them all on a 1-page layout. I wanted plenty of room to add create and decorative touches through the layout.
This file folder, doily (cut in half), tag and title were all cut on my Silhouette Cameo using Kerri's shapes.
Stamps, pre-made die cuts and more give this a finished look. A file folder can be a great way to add hidden journaling or even to add an interactive element to a page or you could simply do what I did here and create an accent.
For the title of my page I die cut 2 titles from 2 different kits and layered them one on top of the other for a bigger presence. Studio Calico Mister Huey white mist continues to be one of my favorite looks on die cut kraft cardstock.
I wanted this white strip of cardstock to resemble a tall envelope (to go with the rest of the "office" themed die cuts I had going on here). I used a couple of tabs from Kerri's kits on the top and bottom and machine stitched to give it a finished look. I used part of a frame from another of Kerri's kits to frame up one of my photos right on top of the "envelope" strip. Stamps from the May and June Studio AE stamp sets finish off this part of the page.
I have always, always loved tags on my pages and these tags were all custom sized using Kerri's digital kits and cut out just for my page. I love that with digital dies you can create the shapes any size you need!
I embellished the tags with stamping, misted canvas resist butterflies and buttons.
I tucked lots of sticker borders, tabs and such on this page for lots of depth and dimension.
I think this is one of my favorite pages ever. The colors. The layers. The die cuts. The stamping. Lots of good stuff going on!
Here's a list of all the KBS shapes I used and what kits they came from. Be sure to check out the supply links below for specific kits and products!
