See, what happened was....
I had all these Project Life blog posts loaded with photos and no journaling.
The plan was to take my laptop with me to Hawaii and complete the blog posts from there. That was the plan.
Yeah, apparently the resort we stayed at was a little too island, if you know what I mean. No wi-fi in our rooms, only ethernet. And I had my MacBook Air. No ethernet connector. I didn't feel like sitting in the lobby and typing up blog posts when we could be out exploring The Big Island or sitting in the lobby in my jammies so....
I am just now getting around to sharing. Finally.
Sorry for being so absent from the blogosphere the last couple of weeks! I am back and I have lots to share. ;)
Project Life | Week 15
This week was busy with Easter and preparing the house and myself to head to Ohio for a girl's crafty retreat weekend.
Using my custom stamped journaling cards. If you missed them, you can catch the details HERE, HERE and HERE.
I am going to have to make more this week.
I can't believe I'm saying this but after catching up five week's worth of layouts I am running low on some of them! eek!
The second part of Week 15 is filled with favorite photos from my weekend with dear friends. From Kristina's rendition of Lady Gaga Hair on Jennifer to photos of the gifts I made for the baby shower to a group shot from the retreat... makes me so happy to look back on the weekend. :)

The sewing projects from this post:
Thanks to my dear, dear friend, Kathy, for being the quilt holding model for these less than perfect shots and less than perfect projects. It was raining the day of the baby shower and I hadn't taken photos of either project at home since, um, I finished them both while in Ohio. Okay, I finished the quilt. I sewed the whole darn canvas gift bag in about 2 hours Friday night before the shower on Saturday! Procrastinate much?! ha! Anyway we took these photo right outside the hotel door, in the rain no less. And we locked ourselves out. Duh!
The quilt is from THIS pattern. I quilted it with diagonal lines but it was HARD and they are not even close to perfect. This was my first real quilt sewing endeavor. I've done some small things but nothing close to this. I learned some things while sewing this project which I think is good. Hopefully won't make those mistakes again! But I think Jennifer liked it and it was so very fun to sew. Made me happy to make this for Miss Lila. :) I would totally use this pattern again. Very fun and actually very easy to piece together. It will be easier on my new quilting sewing machine, the Janome Horizon 7700 oh my gosh but is it the best thing ever and I love my husband and kids so much, but I'll save that story for another day! ;)
The back:
Pieced together the backing with small pieced strip and some larger remnants.
Fabrics used for this project were from Moda Sweetwater Sunkissed Collection, Michael Miller (dots), Riley Blake (pinks & aqua blue dots and/or stripes) and Moda Vintage Modern by Bonnie & Camille.
And instead of a plain ol' gift bag from the store I thought it would be fun to sew up THIS bag as a reusable gift bag. I had used this pattern once before for a bag for Ethan so that definitely helped making putting together a second one much easier!
I'll be back tomorrow with a fun Guest Designer blog post (my last GD post for the summer....) and it's a good one!
