Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop featuring their new exclusive dies!
I am loving these fabulous new dies manufactured by Memory Box for Simon Says Stamp. Here is a card showcasing one of the handwritten words dies designed by Kristina Werner!
To create the background of my card, I stamped the new Hero Arts/Studio Calico background stamp on smooth white cardstock using a SU yellow ink. Then I took SC Mister Huey mists in Lemonade and Sunshine and layered them over the stamped background. I love how it gives a distressed look and more of a patterned paper feel to the piece.
I stamped the pinked edge circle from SSS You Can Do Anything Stamp Set (linked below in supplies) using an orange ink and cut it out with scissors. Then I punched a 1.5" circle from patterned paper and layered it on top. I adhered the circles to the background with foam adhesive for dimension.
I knew that I wanted to use one of Kristina's handwritten word dies with some of her handwritten stamped greetings. I customized the phrase "you are absolutely" from the July 2012 SSS Card Kit by only inking the top part of the greeting (it isn't hard to do, you just have to be patient and take your time inking!). I then die cut my word using the new exclusive die and added another greeting below the die cut.
I finished the card with gemstones, twine and a Tin Pin.
