Hello fellow paper crafters!
I've got another card featuring the September Simon Says Stamp Card Kit for you today!
I still have the coloring bug so I grabbed yet another stamp from my stash that has never seen ink (this one by Pure Innocence for My Favorite Things) and set to creating a fun school-themed card.
I stamped the background with a tartan background stamp by Basic Grey/Hero Arts using the Hero Arts Soft Brown shadow ink. I love the tone on tone look and subtle texture this adds to my card background.
I trimmed a few strips of 6x6 patterned paper (included in the kit) and adhered them along the bottom edge of my card, tying the twine around for a bit of dimension and texture.
Instead of coloring the entire image, I chose to only color the face, hair, hands and shoes with Copics.
Everything else was stamped on 6x6 patterned papers from the September kit, cut out and adhered over the initial stamped design. I love how the skirt appears to be "denim", the tights have little red pin dots and the sweater is yellow chevron! So cute and realistic! I also used a piece of paper from the MME Lost & Found Halloween 6x6 paper pad for the "chalkboard". I stamped the "A+" (from the MFT stamp) using Versamark and heat set it with white embossing powder.
To finish my card, I stamped the greeting and stars stamps (from the kit) using Hero Arts and Jenni Bowlin inks.
One of my new favorite cards, I think!
