I am really digging the bright, primary colors in the September Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. The 6x6 papers from My Mind's Eye are some of my all time favorites: real wood designs in an assortment of colors, small pin dots in primary tones and navy denim-looking designs. And then you add the exclusive stamp set....heaven!
I've been wanting to color lately. It's been way too long so I broke out a stamp I've owned but never inked up and colored it in with my copics. It always feels good to actually use what you buy! ha!
I love the Sarah Kay images and this little beauty is no exception!
To color my image, I first started with some Neenah smooth white cardstock and stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I colored in the skin with the following copic markers:
Next, I colored in the hair:
And the florals:
Her jeans:
Then everything else:
I used the Scattered Straw Distress Ink with the Hero Arts newsprint background. I simply used a baby wipe to remove some of the ink from part of the stamp so it didn't get text print over the image.
Then I used the Ranger ink blending tool with Scattered Straw and Wild Honey distress inks to add color to the strip.
I stamped the greeting (from the stamp set included in the September kit) and traced it with a Copic Spica glitter pen.
The die cut florals are also Simon exclusives that I cut from several different patterned papers and then trimmed and pieced togethter to fit my card design. I used the twine in the kit to "tie" them together.
Then patterned paper strips finish the design!
