Project Life 2013... Week One.
Yes, it is almost May.
Yes, I am just a tad bit behind.... however that was that one share of Week 9 awhile back...
No I never finished sharing my 2012 pages.
Yes, I still plan to...
because I am all the sudden crazy inspired again. Go figure.
And I am so, so grateful that I kept good fairly decent notes/records/photos/memorabilia that make putting my pages together easy do-able!
In the next couple of days I will be sharing the title page for my 2013 album but in the meantime here's a break down of Week One...
Week One consists of two smaller-ish style Becky Higgins pocket pages. Specifically Design H (coming in May) and Design J (available now). I chose these for a couple of reasons:
- I didn't do just the best job taking photos this week and needed to "downsize" a bit to make it appear more impressive.
- I really want to mix and match sheet protectors this year in accordance with the daily photos/stories I am telling. I like variety. It is the spice of life, no? ;)
Week One for me started with the last 2 days of 2012. You see December 30th below:
One of my favorite things about this part of Week One is something so small, so easy and not very remarkable but I'm going to comment on it anyway....
I loved this "hello 2013" 4x6 card that came in a Studio Calico Project Life Kit (January's). The word bubble, mix of fonts and colors are all... me.
All I did to customize this sweet little card is take one of the exclusive phrase stamps from Kelly Purkey's April/May Project Kit from Simon Says Stamp and stamp right under the "2013". I think it just finishes off the design and that, my friends, makes me super duper happy. I love stamping!
The "This Week" die cut is Kerri Bradford (linked below in supplies).
The photo collage (4x6) is also Kerri Bradford and I used a circle stamp from Kelly's Project Kit, stamped it on vellum (also from the SSS Kelly Purkey kit) using Versamark, heat embossed with white powder and then punched it out with a 1 1/4" circle stamp. The number die is a Simon Says Stamp exclusive die and the wood paper was from Kelly's Project Kit. I used this same design on several of the other photos throughout the week as well.
Here's a look at the "inside" spread for Week One. Dec. 30th thru January 5th...
Instead of beating myself up about the photos that I didn't take, I focused on what I did have and filled in the "blanks" with cute journaling and/or embellishment cards.
The Dr. Suess card, as I call it, is from the Kelly Purkey Project Kit. It's embossed and the texture IRL is awesome. I added a star gem because that's how I roll....
The other cute journaling cards you see here are Studio Calico Project Life. The word bubbles ones are my favs. I'm sure that comes as no surprise to my blog readers!
I added stamping to both of them to personalize them for my album. Stamps + Project Life = a very happy Nichol.
Here's another look at that stamped/heat embossed circle with the wood die cut date. I love this look.
This word bubble is a Simon Says Stamp exclusive die. Dies + Project Life + Stamps = a very, very happy Nichol.
This insert is a calender journaling card from Studio Calico with a printed vellum "card" from Kelly's Project Kit over the top. I added a snowflake die created from an exclusive Simon Says Stamp die and added Kelly's flair pin on the top. Very simple but a nice accent.
All of the stamping here is from Simon Says Stamp and Kelly Purkey exclusive stamps and/or dies from Simon Says Stamp. I love their stamps.
