I love red, white and blue. I really do.
And Kerri Bradford Studio has the best red, white and blue die cuts. The best.
I also really love Lawn Fawn stamps and die cuts and pairing them together. Oh, and a little Papertrey Ink, too!
I knew when I started my layout that I had a lot of memories, a lot of photographs that I wanted to include on my layout and I used one of Kerri's 12x12 Storyboards so that I could fit all twenty photos on this 2-page spread.
With a photo heavy right side of the layout, I wanted to find a way to balance the design with the title work and journaling. I die cut the wood design background paper using Kerri's Star Background, then layered a navy blue paper behind it to make the stars pop. The title, fireworks and uncle sam hat are all Kerri's digi die cut designs. I included some stamped and colored images to help balance the design and add interest, color and a touch of whimsy.
To make the journaling a more prominent aspect of the page, and because Kerri has an amazing assortment of script style text designs available in her store, I combined eight shapes with stamped text for interesting journaling that serves to tell the story and as a design element!
To add a touch of interest to the Storyboard and to continue the decorative elements from the left side of the page to the right, I stamped and die cut several word bubbles from Lawn Fawn and adhered them directly to the photo collage.
