Welcome into the July Studio AE Blog Hop!
This month the Design Team and a couple of guests are showcasing Ali's July 2013 Stamp Set, Label Maker.
I've got not one, but three cards to share with you today featuring the July Label Maker Stamp Set!
First, I creted this floral card shocasing one of the greetings from the July Set stamped in black over a Hero Arts Stamp Your Story paint splotch stamp. I love the way the color "behind" the greeting makes the Studio AE stamp pop off the background.
The floral bouquet was created by cutting a bunch of Simon Says Stamp exclusive craft dies from Neenah Solar White Cardstock and laying them in a watercolor wash on the Ranger craft mat. I used the stamp pad to "stamp" a couple of coordinating ink colors of Tim Holtz Distress Ink on my craft mat, spritzed the ink with water to water it down, then pushed the die cut pieces into it. For the multi-colored florals, I masked off the area that I didn't want to be green (like the flowers) and did the stems first. Once those were dry I carefully pushed the floral into the color(s) I wanted it to be. Love the vibrant colors of these Distress Inks!

Next, I created another card featuring a watercolor technique.
I loved THIS card by Jennifer Mcguire so I created a very similar card using the stamps from this month's stamp set. I used watercolor paper to create my card base and stamped a collage of the July Studio AE stamps using Versamark. I heat embossed them with clear embossing powder, then took the leftover "watercolors" on my craft mat from the above card and a paintbrush and painted a rainbow over the embossed images. The embossed areas resisted the paint.
I added some die cut hearts and applied Glossy Accents and a gemstone to each for a super simple but pretty card!

Finally, I created a background using one of the greetings from the Label Maker stamp set and white ink on my kraft card base. The ink stays wet for a bit so I sped up drying with a heat tool, then I stamped the heart from the Studio AE Stamp Set with Versamark and embossed it with red embossing powder to make it pop!
I finished my card with some sequins and gemstones.
