The 2014 Valentine's Release from Simon Says Stamp is ah-mazing! Did you check out the blog hop yesterday? If you'd like to start at the beginning, click HERE.
Today I have another new card share featuring the brand new Floating Hearts Die, SSS/Mama Elephant Filled with Love Stamp Set and new Simon Says Stamp Cardstocks!
When I opened up the Floating Hearts Die I immediately saw not the postive space of with the lines and hearts but that wonderful negative space between each section and immediately thought how fun it would be to "fill" each space with different colors of cardstock for a rainbow effect (one of my all-time favorites!). What could be better than filling each space with the new colors of Simon Says Stamp cardstock?!!!!
To create my card I cut the die nine times using Neenah White, SSS Lipstick Red, SSS Orange Peel, SSS Sunshine, SSS Green Apple, SSS Sea Glass, SSS Island Blue, SSS Blue Violet and SSS Black cardstocks. The die cut piece fits the front of a standard card perfectly! I adhered the white piece to a white card base and simply filled in with the negative space left from die cutting each of the other colors!
Originally I had thought to cut the hearts from those leftover pieces and adhere them directly over the white hearts however I bumped my project as I was laying them out and they all shifted slightly and I decided that I like how they looked offset from the background even better!
I adhered each heart slightly "off" from the background and applied a thin layer of Glossy Accents to each. Before the Glossy Accents dried, I added a Doodlebug gemstone from my stash to each heart.
To finish my card I used some Stampin' Up Markers to color in the banner greeting from the SSS/Mama Elephant Filled With Love Stamp Set. I love the multi-color greeting that perfectly compliments the rest of the card!
- Stampin' Up Markers: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black
- Doodlebug gemstones
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a fantastic weekend!
