I love mixing and matching the stamps from my collection to create one-of-a-kind proejcts. I need a couple of birthday cards and had pulled out the MFT Party Balloons Stamp Set and coordinating Die-namics Party Balloons to create a card today. I didn't have a birthday greeting in the right size in my MFT stamp stash so I grabbed another set instead, Kelly Purkey's new Happy Birthday Stamp Set. To create the background for my card I applied Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough Distress Inks to Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper and spritzed the background with the Mini Mister. The water made the ink pool and wick away in some areas creating a cool distressed background effect. Once the background was dry I used my favorite MFT Abstract Art Stamp Set and the Peacock Feathers Distress Ink to add additional distressing.
I stamped the greeting using Simon Says Stamp Black Ink and masked off the greeting before stamping the balloon "strings". Then I die cut the balloons and stamped them with MFT Wild Cherry and Lemon Drop Inks and added glitter detail with the Wink of Stella Glitter Marker before adhering them with foam adhesive.
