Hello and welcome to the January Studio AE Blog Hop!
This month the Studio AE Design Team is showcasing projects created with All My Heart by Ali Edwards, the Studio AE stamp set for January.
This fabulous stamp set features all kinds of wonderful love-themed handwritten sayings and hearts all boxed up making them perfect for both cardmaking and for scrapbooking! Love that.
I created a non-valentine but still love themed layout using three of the stamp designs from this stamp set. The awesome thing about these stamps is that they will work for so many types of pages, not just Valentine's! This page is actually a re-do of a very old page I had done eons ago for a trade show that got crumpled beyond repair at some point before making it's way back to me. It's been in my do-over pile for years so it feels good to have it scrapped again and lovingly put away in an album!
The design of this page (four frames) is going to be really similar to one I'm sharing tomorrow but I loved it so much that I scraplifted myself for this page and that is totally okay. I've talked about this before but I wanted to mention it again that if a certain design is working for you and you love it there is absolutely nothing wrong with using it over and over again!
Part of the appeal of this design for me was that the photo had acryllic paint around the edges (remember when that was popular years ago?). Ick. What was I thinking? Instead of having to go get a new photo printed (this photo was pre-digital) I was able to re-use it by simply "covering up" those ugly edges with a pretty frame overlay from Crate Paper. And those frames don't have to just frame up photos.... they look awesome framing up embellishments, journaling and more!
I framed up my printed journaling here and added a little stamped and embossed image from this month's Studio AE stamp set right on top using a Tiny Attacher. I am addicted to THIS gold embossing powder!
I stamped five of the small square with heart on ledger and pink scraps of patterned paper, embossed them all and then cut and pieced them together to create this sweet border.
And this stamp was the inspiration behind the entire layout. My favorite phrase from the entire stamp set.... this one will be used again and again. I don't know about you but when I look back at those older photos the phrase "oh my heart" immediately pops up. The memories, the love... this is why I scrapbook!
I stamped and embossed the image on a cut out tag from a 12x12 piece of paper and added it to one of the frames on the page.
Another look at my pink and gold page....
I love using sequins and wood veneer and more on my pages however I haven't been loving what I've been using to adhere these embellishments, a liquid adhesive. Often it squishes out and I'm left with a messy looking embellishment. Lately I have been attaching all my sequins, small pieces of paper (like the heart boxes above), wood veneer and more with the following products:
