Hello and welcome to Lawn Fawn's March Inspiration Week!
Today the LF Design Team is showcasing the Happy Trails Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies and the Starry Backdrops Stamp Set. I've got a couple of card shares for you today both using fun Distress Ink techniques with these stamps and dies!
The Happy Trails Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies makes for a fun little camping scen on my card below. To create the starry background of my card, I used Tim Holtz' Watercolore Paper and stamped the star background from Starry Backdrops Stamp Set twice using Versamark Ink and then heat set the design with white embossing powder. I pressed the Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks onto the Ranger Craft Sheet and spritzed them with the Mini Mister to make a watercolor wash. Then I pressed the embossed watercolor paper into the inks for a pretty stamped resist watercolor background. You can set it aside to dry or heat it with a heat tool to dry it quickly. I love how it gives the background of my card a pretty variation in color for the night time sky!
I stamped the car, camper and trees from the Happy Trails Stamp Set with the SSS Black Ink and colored in the images with Prismacolor Colored Pencils, blending the colors with Gamsol. Then I die cut the stamped images with the Happy Trails coordinating dies. I cut a couple of borders for my card from SSS Green Apple Cardstock and SSS Green Leaf Cardstock using the ME Landscape Trio Creative Cuts dies.
The greeting is from the LF Lucky Stars Stamp Set. I love how well it goes with this card design and how all the Lawn Fawn stamps mix and match!
I die cut some clouds from vellum using the LF Spring Showers Lawn Cuts dies and stamped the moon from the Starry Backdrops Stamp Set, cut it out and tucked it behind a cloud.
I thought it would be fun to showcase the rainbow from the Starry Backdrops Stamp Set using Jennifer McGuire's Distress Ink Bleed technique (click HERE for her great video tutorial on this technique).
I stamped the rainbow and stars on Tim Holtz' Watercolore Paper using Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. Then I spritzed them with a Mini Mister to get the Distress Inks to run since they react so well with water! The result is a perfectly magical soft watercolored image! I added some sparkle to the rainbow with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Marker.
I stamped and colored the dragon, wand and smiling star from LF Ever After Stamp Set using Prismacolor Colored Pencils, blending the colors with Gamsol. Then I die cut the images using the coordinating LF Ever After Lawn Cuts dies. Soft vellum clouds die cut using LF Bon Voyage Lawn Cuts dies and a sprinkling of gems and enamel dots complete this magical card!
