This week Lawn Fawn and Timeless Twine have teamed up to share projects featuring both companies products. Twine is one of my favorite embellishments to add to a card. It's not bulky. It lies relatively flat and it can add a lot without overwhelming the design.
All this winter weather has got me trying to bring some warmer weather and color into my days wherever I can! This card says "summer", don't ya think?!!!
To create my card, I first stamped a SSS Mint Cardstock card base with the Lawn Fawn Sharp Backdrops stamp set using SSS Mint Ink.
I used the Mama Elephant Femme Frames die set to die cut a scalloped frame from vellum and the white stitched rectangle from white cardstock. I added a border with the natural Timeless Twine by poking a hole in each corner and threading the string through. I tied it on the back to secure. The effect is subtle but frames up the colorful stamped and die cut elements perfectly!
I stamped and die cut the jar from vellum using the LF Summertime Charm Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies. I stamped the jar again on white cardstock, colored in the lid with colored pencils, blending with Gamsol and cut it out, adhering it over the vellum jar. I wanted the jar to be "see-through" but not the lid. :)
I stamped the scallop jar border using SSS Mint Ink and the outline in SSS Black Ink before die cutting it and adhering it below the jar lid.
I stamped several strawberries from the LF Summertime Charm Stamp Set and colored them with colored pencils and blended them with Gamsol before die cutting using the Coordinating Dies. I adhered several to the white cardstock background and then placed the vellum jar over the top, being careful to only place adhesive behind the black stamped lines.
I poked holes on either side of the jar using a large needle and threaded through the Strawberry Cupcake Timeless Twine before tying in a bow on the front of the jar.
I stamped and colored in a leaf from LF Blissful Botanicals and the sunflower and leaves from LF Our Friendship Grows. I die cut them with their coordinating dies and adhered them to the card as shown. I added a couple more strawberries embellished with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Marker.
The stem for the sunflower was cut using the SSS Heart Blooms Craft Die from SSS Green Leaf Cardstock.
I stamped the greeting from the LF Summertime Charm Stamp Set using SSS Black Ink.
I felt like the top of the card needed a critter of some kind so I stamped one of the birds from LF Hello Sunshine and colored him in with colored pencils, blending with Gamsol. I really love how he's a mint color to match the card base. ;)
I finished the card with several small hearts stamped from LF Hello Sunshine in ME Apple Ink, SSS Cotton Candy Ink and SSS Mint Ink.
Be sure to check out all the Lawn Fawn + Timeless Twine projects on the Lawn Fawn Blog all this week. Thanks for hanging out with me...
