The April Mama Elephant Photo Inspiration Challenge is a fun one! I love the colors, the composition, the textures, pretty much everything about the inspiration photo, don't you?!!!!
HERE'S HOW TO PLAY ALONG WITH US:
1. You must use a Mama Elephant stamp
2. Challenge duration 4/3/2014 - 5/5/2014
3. No limit to how many entries, in other words, go buck wild!
4. Link up your project using the Inlinkz tool on the bottom of the post on the ME Blog HERE.
5. PRIZE: A SPOT ON THE ME CHALLENGE TEAM!!!!
For my card not only did I draw from the colors used in the inspiration photo but I chose to create a "beach-themed" card as well! I love how adding layers of patterned paper, vellum and/or cardstock die cut with the Femme Frames stitched rectangle die and the Landscape Trio wavy dies gives a lovely realistic "scene". And there are so many different ways to use these dies together! Love that. (Please see the "Similar Projects" at the end of this post for more cards using these dies together.)
The sweet image of the bunnies plus the carrots are from the Honey Bunny Stamp Set. I colored in the bunnies with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and blended with Gamsol. The stamped and embossed the greeting from Everyday Greetings with white embossing powder and added stamped and embossed "seagulls" from the Sunny Skies Stamp Set.
For the little die cut scenery additions in the left bottom corner of this card I used this design (Design ID #43350) from the Silhouette Online Store, die cutting the different elements from scraps of 6x6 patterned paper.
I finished the inside of the card with a stamped carrot from the Honey Bunny Stamp Set and greetings from the Many Thanks Stamp Set.

Nichol, I love everything about your honey bunny card. The layer idea is great and I see how it works. It really added depth to the card. The coloring of the bunnies, the sand, the water, the seagulls....all of these come together to create an amazing card. Thanks for the inspiration.

Your card is amazing. I just love the scenes that you create with your cards. Like a painter creates a scene on a canvas you create a scene on your cards and and they are fabulous. Thanks for the inspiration.

Oh this is absolutely adorable! I just moved to the beach and this card put a huge smile on my face because Palm Sunday my little girl will be on the beach hunting for Easter eggs for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Just love this card! It is such a happy card!
