Just in time for Mother's Day I have a brand new card to share with you showcasing some of my favorite Simon Say Stamp stamps and dies plus my favorite Distress Inks used again for watercoloring!
I colored in the hearts on the SSS Drawn Heart 6x6 Cling Stamp using the Spun Sugar Distress Marker, Worn Lipstick Distress Marker and Picked Raspberry Distress Marker. Once I had the hearts colored in I misted the stamp 3-4 times using water in a Mini Mister and then stamped it onto some Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper. I love how this gives the hearts such a soft imperfect look! I added a bit of splatter with the Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and a paintbrush as well as adding additional color/water to some of the hearts for an even more colorful distressed background!
I die cut the SSS Large Script Mom die from Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper and SSS Slate Cardstock. I created a watercolor ink was with Spun Sugar Distress Ink + Picked Raspberry Distress Ink + a Mini Mister and pressed the die cut "mom" into the ink for the light to dark pink effect. Once dry I adhered it to the SSS Slate Cardstock die cut word, slightly off-setting for a shadowed look.
I die cut the SSS Folded Banner from vellum and stamped and embossed a greeting from the SSS Mother's Day Stamp Set using Ranger Silver Fine Embossing Powder.
I die cut another piece of vellum using the second to largest SSS Postage Edge die to give mute the background a bit and make the greeting "pop".
