Happy Friday!

The Lawn Fawn Fall & Winter Release is now available! Mama Elephant Designer Series | Rewind (video)

Hiya stamping friends! Today I'm over at the Mama Elephant Blog with a Designer Series project featuring the new Rewind Stamp Set.

Sometimes a simple design can pack a big punch simply with the colors you use and the layout of the card. The black stamped and embossed borders along each side of the watercolored design make the colors really pop showing off the resisted stamping. 

I stamped three images from the Rewind Stamp Set on watercolor paper with Versamark Ink and heat embossed them with white embossing powder before applying four colors of Distress Ink over the design (I used Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks). The embossed areas resist the ink. I dropped water all over the design using a paintbrush. The Distress Inks wick away creating a great distressed watercolored background.

Once the background is completely dry, take a dry rag or paper towel to the embossed areas and gently wipe away any ink that may have pooled on the embossing. The embossing will be much more vibrant.

I stamped two borders from the Basic Borders Stamp Set on black cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed each with black embossing powder for tone-on-tone borders.

A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh sequins completes the design.

Lawn Fawn August Inspiration Week | Thank You Tags + You're A Hoot

The Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the new You're A Hoot Stamp Set and coordinating Lawn Cuts dies and Thank You Tags Stamp Set which coordinates with the previously released Tag You're It Lawn Cuts dies. 

The Tag You're It Lawn Cuts dies are some of my very favorite and most used Lawn Cuts dies. I love a good tag die cut, don't you?! And coordinating stamps? Perfection. Lawn Fawn now three Lawn Fawn stamp sets that coordinate with this one die collection:

As promised (on THIS post) I'm sharing my custom stamped background using the brand new Argyle Backdrops Stamp Set, too. This is an awesome background basic, my friends. Awesome. You might remember seeing it on THIS card as well.

I created a video showing how I pulled all these stamps and dies together to create a set of five thank you cards.

To create the argyle backgrounds, I die cut smooth white cardstock using the largest rectangle in the Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables Lawn Cuts die set and masked off the outer edge of the rectangle (the area past the stitching) using post it tape. Then I used two contrasting colors of ink with the Argyle Backdrops Stamp Set to create the background. To keep the stamped background from overpowering the rest of the design I die cut another rectangle from vellum and attached it over the stamped rectangle.

I stamped the images from You're A Hoot on smooth white cardstock, adding detailing to the owls eyes with my favorite black glaze pen and then die cut the owls, tree branches and leaves using the You're A Hoot Lawn Cuts dies.

I stamped the large tag design from the Thank You Tags Stamp Set on white cardstock and again on a 6x6 sheet of Sweater Weather patterned paper. I die cut the white tag using the Tag You're It Lawn Cuts dies. I die cut another tag from a contrasting sheet of Sweater Weather paper and also the hole reinforcement. Then I hand cut out the "inside" portion of the Sweater Weather paper out and adhered it to the white tag, glued the hole reinforcement in place and layered the two die cut tags together, securing with twine.

I die cut clouds from white cardstock and vellum using the Spring Showers Lawn Cuts dies and die cut vellum banners using the Stitched Journaling Card Lawn Cuts die set. I stamped "thanks" greetings from the Thank You Tags Stamp Set with Versamark and heat embossed the greetings with white embossing powder. I attached the journaling banners along the bottom of the larger layered tags with the Tiny Attacher.

I attached the die cut owls, leaves, clouds and tree branches to the layered tags, adhering the owl with my favorite foam adhesive for a bit of dimension.

I adhered the tags to the background using more foam adhesive and then adhered the whole design to a white card base.

Lawn Fawn August Inspiration Week | Sweater Weather Stamps (video)

The Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the brand new Sweater Weather Stamp Set and coordinating Lawn Cuts dies. I combined the tree and leaves from Sweater Weather with the adorable monster images from Monster Mash, the tombstones, moon and stars from Spooktacular and the stitched hillside borders and large and small stitched rectangles to round out the dimensional scene with layers.

I love that by adding in some spooky critters, a night sky and some tombstones, you can take a very fall-ish/leaves stamp set and create a Halloween scene. Stamp the leaves in green and it becomes a spring/summer design. Such a super versatile stamp set!

I've created a video to show how I put this card together. I've lef out the majority of the coloring and instead focused on how I die cut and arranged all the layers to create this spooky scene.

I layered the Sweater Weather die cut trees both in front of and behind the vellum for a dimensional graveyard scene. My favorite foam adhesvie helps build the scene under the stitched hillside borders. I also added foam adhesive under parts of the some of the trees so they were the same "height" as the border they're tucked under. The stamped and die cut leaves from Sweater Weather perfectly finish off the design.

Lawn Fawn August Inspiration Week | Sweater Weather Collection (layout)

Happy Monday! Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the brand new Sweater Weather Collection of patterned papers and embellishments.

I'm in love with mood/inspiration boards. I find them ultra-inspiring and I think that the design of some inspiration boards makes the perfect layout for a scrapbook page. I created an inspiration board using some of the Sweater Weather 6x6 patterned paper, 12x12 paper (background), Tag You're It die cut tags (some stamped with the Thank You Tags Stamp Set), canvas die cut leaves (made using the Stitched Leaves Lawn Cuts dies), Fall Leaves Wood Veneer shapes, stitched journaling cards, canvas polaroid frame (made with the Say Cheese Lawn Cuts die), Orchid Lawn Trimmings twine, washi tapes, a vellum envelope, sequins and badges (3 of them are from Sweater Weather).

I love laying out all the goodies before getting down to the business of creating.

The Tag You're It Lawn Cuts dies are some of my very favorite and most used Lawn Cuts dies. Super versatile and there are now three Lawn Fawn stamp sets that coordinate with this one die collection:

1. Winter Gifts Stamp Set
2. Birthday Tags Stamp Set
3. Thank You Tags Stamp Set

I created my own vellum envelope using my favorite vellum and THIS envelope die from Simon Says Stamp. 

 

From my Lawn Fawn Fall Inspiration Board to this fun fall layout! I mostly kept to the supplies from the inspiration board but added in a few buttons, a wood frame, stamped date, etc. here and there.

Layering the stitched journaling cards, Tag You're It die cut tags, etc. really give a richer, more collage-type feel to the page. Adding those finishing details with some stamped, embossed and die cut tags, adding the die cut hole reinforcement and tying some of them together with ribbons, clips and twine add to the appeal of the design.

I'm a big fan of using phrases printed on ledger paper on my pages. I didn't have any fall-related ones so instead I created my own, by typing up several phrases in a word documenting program and printing them on notebook Sweater Weather 6x6 patterned paper. I cut them apart and added them about my page! Easy, customized phrase strips.

Texture played an important part in my page design and I incorporated canvas, wood veneer and ribbons.

I added cut-outs to a couple of the stitched journaling cards with the heart border from the same set and the larger heart from the Large Stitched Journaling Card Lawn Cuts dies. Backing them with vellum is one of my favorite ways to use cut-out style cards.

Lawn Fawn August Inspiration Week | Monster Mash (video)

Hello crafty friends! Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the new Monster Mash Stamp Set and coordinating dies.

I created a shaker frame using the new Large Stitched Rectangle Lawn Cuts Dies and added these cute Copic colored and die cut monsters around the frame to create a fun birthday card! I've created a video below to share how this card came together.

I combined a couple of greetings, one from the Monster Mash Stamp Set and one from the Year Two Stamp Set, with the thought bubbles from the A Birdie Told Me Stamp Set. I stamped the greetings and thought bubbles with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder before die cutting the shapes with the coordinating A Birdie Told Me Lawn Cuts dies.

Because the larger style wiggle eyes were rather thick I ended up using three layers of foam tape for my shaker, however a thicker foam tape probably wouldn't need that many layers. I finished the card by applying wiggle eyes to the stamped and die cut monsters (including the ones peeking out at the side and bottom of the shaker!) and sprinkling some Pretty Pink Posh sequins around the card.

Lawn Fawn August Inspiration Week | Forest Border & Stitched Hillside Borders

The Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the brand new Forest Border Lawn Cuts Die, Stitched Hillside Borders Dies and Argyle Backdrops Stamp Set (not shown here today however I will be sharing a project on Wednesday, August 27th with this stamp set).

I combined the Forest Border Lawn Cuts Die and Stitched Hillside Borders Dies with the new LF Navy Notecards Woodgrain Fawndamentals. I added stamped and watercolored pumpkins from the LF So Thankful Stamp Set to create a pumpkin patch!

I created the landscape for my pumpkin patch by die cutting brown LF Sweater Weather 6x6 patterned papers using the Forest Border Lawn Cuts Die and Stitched Hillside Borders Dies. I stamped a greeting using phrases from both the LF Sweater Weather Stamp Set and LF So Thankful Stamp Set stamped in SSS Black Ink. I layered the dies along the bottom of the  LF Navy Notecards Woodgrain Fawndamentals, using my favorite foam adhesive to attach the middle layer for dimension.

I stamped the pumpkins and leaves from the LF So Thankful Stamp Set on Tim Holtz Watercolor paper and used Distress Ink Markers, a paintbrush and water to color the pumpkins before die cutting with the coordinating So Thankful Lawn Cuts dies. I stamped, colored and die cut the moon and stars from the Spooktacular Stamp Set using Distress Ink Markers as well. I added a bit of glitter to these with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Marker.

I've created a couple of cards to share with you today.

First up, a spooky Halloween card showcasing the new PPP Stitched Film Strip Die. Love, love, love this die, my friends. I stamped the SSS Fog Cardstock background with an oldie (retired now) Hero Arts Large Web Background Stamp using SSS Fog Ink. I stamped the greeting using a sentiment from the Mama Elephant Bootastic Stamp Set. I masked off parts of the greeting to create a stacked sentiment rather than the longer horizontal one. I traced over the web with the Sakura Stardust marker to get that fun sparkly spiderweb background.

I die cut two of the PPP Stitched Film Strip Die from SSS Black Cardstock and two from SSS Slate Cardstock. I layered and adhered the two frames to my card as shown, inserting the slate "inside" pieces into the openings of the black frames for subtle contrast.

I stamped the cute images from the Mama Elephant Bootastic Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, then colored in the images with Copic Markers (the individual marker colors are linked below in the supplies). I added detail to the eyes with my favorite black marker and glitter detail to the "black" areas on the stamped designs with the Wink of Stella Glitter markers. I die cut all the images using the coordinating ME Bootastic Creative Cuts dies.

I finished the design with a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

I am still loving shaker cards and thought it would be fun to create a shaker tag. Even though the temps are still warm here in my neck of the woods I know the holiday season will be upon me before I know it so having some gift tags on hand ready for gift wrapping will be so handy!

I created the shaker tag here using the PPP Stitched Duo 2 "inside" circles piece and the PPP Stitched Duo 1 tag shape. I love how easy it is to mix and match the components from both sets!

I used the adorable Mama Elephant No Peeking Stamp Set to stamp the critters and peppermints for the "inside" of my shaker, coloring the critters with Copic Markers (the individual marker colors are linked below in the supplies).

Lawn Fawn August Inspiration Week | Goodie Bag + Spooktacular

The Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the brand new Goodie Bag Lawn Cuts die, Spooktacular Stamp Set and Spooktacular Lawn Cuts dies today. I combined these products to create this trio of Halloween goodie bags, perfect for tucking some treats into!

To create the treat bag, I die cut the Goodie Bag Lawn Cuts die from SSS Black Cardstock twice. Before folding and securing the two pieces together to form the bag, I stamped one of the greetings from the Spooktacular Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. You will want to do this before assembling the bag to make stamping easier.

For the tags I die cut three of the banner style tags from LF Sweater Weather 6x6 paper using the LF Tag You're It Lawn Cuts dies. I stamped the tag outline from the new LF Thank You Tags Stamp Set on vellum using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before die cutting with the coordinating LF Tag You're It Lawn Cuts die. I finished the vellum tag by die cutting a hole reinforcement from SSS Black Cardstock using the LF Tag You're It Lawn Cuts die.

I stamped the images from the Spooktacular Stamp Set on Neenah Smooth White Cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored in all the images with Copic Markers (the individual marker colors are linked below in the supplies). I added detail to the images with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter marker, my favorite white pen and my favorite black pen. I die cut all the images using the coordinating Spooktacular Lawn Cuts dies and adhered them to the vellum tags.

I layered the vellum tag on top of the patterned paper one and then using the new LF Spooky Lawn Trimmings twine, I tied the layered tags to the goodie bags.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Sentimental Borders

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the brand new Sentimental Borders Stamp Set. I combined this awesome new basic with the gorgeous banner and florals stamps from the ME Bloomsies Stamp Set and coordinating ME Bloomsies Creative Cuts dies. Simple rectangles die cut using the ME Index Card Creative Cuts and layered add a lovely subtle dimensional background to my card.

I die cut the stitched rectangle from Neenah Smooth White Cardstock using the ME Index Card Creative Cuts die. I masked off the edges of the die (from the stitched detail to the edge) using Post It Tape and then I used one of the Sentimental Borders stamps to create the text background by repeatedly stamping the design using Golden Glitz Delicata Pigment Ink. 

I die cut the scallop rectangle from vellum using the ME Index Card Creative Cuts die and layered it over the text background, carefully applying liquid adhesive in the four corners (and behind where the florals and banner will be attached).

I stamped the beautiful florals from the ME Bloomsies Stamp Set using Hero Arts Soft Vanilla Ink for the solid image and HA Butter Bar Ink for the accent stamp. This results in lovely dimensional looking flower blooms. I stamped the greenery with HA Soft Olive Ink and the open leaves with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, coloring in the leaves with Copic Markers (the individual marker colors I used are linked below in the supplies).

I stamped the banner and greeting on vellum using Versamark Ink and heat embossed the image and greeting with gold embossing powder to really make it pop. I love the look of gold embossed images on vellum. Especially on an elegant card like this one, making it the perfect card for weddings, anniversaries, etc.

I attached the banner and florals as shown, finishing by adding a bit of Wink of Stella Glitter pen to the flower blooms and attaching some pearl gems to complete the card.

The finished size of this card is 4 x 5.5". The ME Index Card Creative Cuts dies fit A1 sized cards (commonly known as RSVP sized cards). The ME Index Card Creative Cuts is a slightly smaller version of the very popular ME Femme Frames Creative Cuts dies. I love having both size options!
