Welcome to the Mama Elephant Release Design Team blog hop!
Our newest release is now live and available for purchase in the store!
A great background building set is a must-have for creating interesting and beautiful backgrounds or borders for your stamped card creations. The new ME Sentimental Borders Stamp Set not only creates amazing text stamped borders but use it to fill the background of your card and you can get any number of different text background looks by simply repeating the stamped design to fill the background.
I combined the ME Sentimental Borders with the bunny from the new ME Carnival Cupcakes and the party hat and balloon from the ME Carnival Toppers Stamps. I stamped a sentiment from the ME Starry Night Stamp Set on a vellum tag die cut with the ME Embellished Tag Creative Cuts die. Star confetti die cut using the ME Confetti Creative Cuts die is one of my favorite ways to finish embellishing a card!
I stamped one of the text border designs from ME Sentimental Borders on the Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper using Versamark Ink and heat embossed the stamped design with white embossing powder. Then I took Spun Sugar Distress Ink, Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and Barn Door Distress ink and applied them with the Mini Ink Blending Tool over the background. The embossed text resisted the ink, leaving me with a beautifully variegated background going from lightest to darkest. I spritzed the background with a Mini Mister filled with water to give the inked background a bit more of a distressed look (the Distress Inks react with the water and move leaving nice water droplet looks. The Mini Mister spritzes small droplets for a more subtle distressing).
I die cut tags from white cardstock and vellum using the ME Embellished Tag die, stamping the "happy birthday" greeting from the ME Starry Night Stamp Set in Versamark and heat embossing with white embossing powder.
I stamped the white tag with the tag outline stamp from the ME No Peeking Stamp Set using SSS Fog Ink and die cut the tag hole reinforcement from SSS Cotton Candy Cardstock and adhered it to the top of the tag. I tied some thin pink twine through the tags and adhered them to the inked background.
I stamped the bunny from the ME Carnival Cupcakes Stamp Set and party hat from the ME Carnival Toppers Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on white cardstock and colored in the designs with Copic Markers (the individual marker colors are listed and linked below in the supplies). I stamped the balloon from ME Carnival Toppers using ME Lollipop Ink and SSS Black Ink and die cut all the pieces with the coordinating ME Carnival Cupcakes Creative Cuts Dies and ME Carnival Toppers Creative Cuts Dies.
I die cut star confetti from SSS Cotton Candy Cardstock, SSS Doll Pink Cardstock and SSS Lipstick Red Cardstock using the ME Confetti Creative Cuts die and scattered them throughout the design. I added a layer of Glossy Accents to the star confetti for subtle dimension.
I adhered the inked panel to my card base using my favorite foam adhesive.
