SIMON SAYS STAMP + LAWN FAWN STAMPTEMBER COLLABORATION | FEATHERED FRIENDS (VIDEO)

STAMPtember at Simon Says Stamp is so fun, isn't it?!!!! From the daily inspiration on the Simon Says Stamp Blog to the exclusive products and collaborations, there is something new happening daily. I love it.

Today I'm thrilled to get to share a card created with the Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Limited Edition Stamp Set, Feathered Friends, designed by Lawn Fawn! I adore this stamp set and love how easy it will be to use with the rest of the Lawn Fawn stamps in my ever-growing stash. ;)

To create my card, I die cut the second largest stitched rectangle from white cardstock using the Large Stitched Rectangle Lawn Cuts die collection. I stamped the greeting, "wires" and birds from the Feathered Friends Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them in with Copic Markers (the individual marker colors are listed and linked below in the supplies).

I added detailing to the birds with the Sakura White Pen, Sakura Black Gel Pen and a fine tip black pen. I used the Copic Colorless Blender to "remove" some ink and create the dot detail in the tummies of the birds. Glossy Accents on the birds' noses gives them some extra shine!

I masked off the birds with masking tape and used some post it tape to mask off all four edges of the stitched rectangle (I love how this instantly adds a "mat" to the center design). I applied Tim Hotlz Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Inks using the Mini Ink Blending Tool and used a paintbrush dipped in water and flicked over the surface to add the water droplet spots to the inked backhround.

Once the water dried I added stamped hearts from the Feathered Friends Stamp Set and white pen detail to the greeting.

I stamped the card base using the Hero Arts Friend Definition Background Stamp and SSS Slate Gray Ink.

I popped up the stamped and inked rectangle with some foam adhesive and added Doodlebug enamel dots for a touch of embellishment.
