Football has started, the kids are in school and yesterday it was downright chilly here with a cold front that moved through our area! I think I'm starting to get in the mood for fall.
To celebrate the changing of the seasons, I created a thank you card showcasing a couple of my favorite stamp sets from the latest release at Simon Says Stamp, STAMPtember 2014. Click HERE to see the entire release.
I used the new Leaves and Scribbles Stamp Set and coordinating dies with a greeting from the Many Thanks Stamp Set. A custom woodgrain background created with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and the Impression Obsession Wood Grain Background Stamp make for the perfect fall card!
I stamped the solid leaves from the Leaves and Scribbles Stamp Set using two colors of Distress Ink per leaf. I spritzed each leaf a couple of times with water from a Mini Mister before stamping the image on watercolor paper. Once the solid image was dry. I stamped the coordinating scribble leaf image over the solid image using the darker of the two Distress Inks. Then I die cut the leaves with the Fall Leaves Craft Dies.
I die cut the woodgrain background using the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables Die and masked off the edges with post it tape. Using the Mini Ink Blending Tool, I applied Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to add color to the background and then I inked up the Impression Obsession Wood Grain Background Stamp with the same ink and stamped the background for a great tone-on-tone effect.
I stamped the greeting from Many Thanks Stamp Set with SSS Black Ink, adhered the die cut leaves to my card and embellished with sequins.
I die cut an A2 sized mat from SSS Chocolate Cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles Stackables Die.
