Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Blog Hop! The STAMPtember release from Simon Says Stamp is absolutely incredible! Hop along with us today and see how we've used the latest and greatest from Simon Says Stamp. I know you will be as inspired as I am and will be itching to get inky right away!
For my card share today I used the awesome new Nativity Stamp Set and coordinating Holy Couple and Barn Craft Dies. I wanted my card to appear as if the card "front" was the inside of the stable and the opening in the Barn Die was looking out into the night sky/landscape.
To give the entire front of my card some texture like an inside of a stable might have, I stamped the Impression Obsession Distressed Brick background on some smooth white cardstock using the MFT Grout Gray Ink. I cut out the barn from the background using the Barn Craft Die and set it aside for a moment.
To create the night sky scene, I took another sheet of smooth white cardstock and the new Christmas Scene Stencil and inked the hills with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink and Dusty Concord Distress Ink. I inked part of the sky with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and then went over the entire thing with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. I spritzed some water on the background using the Mini Mister to give the night sky the illusion of "stars".
I stamped the greeting from the Nativity Stamp Set using the Festive Berries Distress Marker, Forest Moss Distress Marker and Black Soot Distress Marker. The word "rejoice" was stamped with SSS Blue Violet Ink.
I used foam adhesive on the back of the background and then die cut and adhered three barn frames cut from SSS Khaki cardstock to the opening in the frame. I removed the backing from the foam adhesive and adhered the background behind the barn opening.
I stamped the holy couple and infant with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored in the image with Copic Markers ( the individual marker colors are linked below in the supplies). I colore din the star with a yellow Copic Marker and die cut the images with the Holy Couple Craft Dies. I adhered the star in the sky and used foam adhesive to adhere the holy couple and infant to the card.
I finished the design with Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear 4mm gems.
