KBS | Halloween Canvas Print and Cut Framed Word Art

Happy Halloween! 

Today, I have a quick last minute Halloween decor project for you. I love the look of canvas word art in frames (you may remember THESE Christmas themed ones I did last December) so I grabbed some Silhouette Printable Cotton Canvas and Kerri's latest Something Wicked Kit and quickly added a fun personalized touched to our Halloween Decor.

This first print is my fav. So funny. So true! ;) I resized the design to 8x10" without contraining proportions and it didn't really distort the design (or at least no enough to bother me). I popped it into a weathered wood frame I already had on hand and voila! this sofa table in our family room was complete!

I think you can maybe see the texture of the canvas paper a bit in this closer shot. I love the texture the Silhouette Printable Cotton Canvas gives this project. Regular cardstock or Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper LUSTER* works too but if you really want an art print type of feel I highly recommend the Silhouette Printable Cotton Canvas. 

*I've used Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper LUSTER (my favorite photo paper) for prints too and loved the results. You can see some holiday art prints I did HERE.

I even added a couple of art prints in my kitchen. I have a small counter just to the left of my stove where I like to keep a seaonsal framed print. These two prints (and their scary friend) perfectly add a spooky touch to the busiest room in the house!

The largest print is again 8x10". For this one I didn't want to lose that circular shape in the middle so I simple did a crop of the orginal design before printing.

 For the "Bones" print I cropped the original design to 4x6" (I lost the border on the original design and then popped it into the matching smaller frame. 

p.s. I found both of these awesome wood plank-style frames at Wal-Mart! I sort of have a thing for weathered wood looking frames and these were cheap! Whoot!

Simon Says Stamp | "Wishing You Joy" Card (video)

I just love all the amazing holiday-themed stamps, dies and stencils from Simon Says Stamp, don't you?!!! 

Today I have a modern elegance hanging ornaments card showcasing the Ornaments Stamp Set and dies over the awesome Triangle Pattern die cut background. It features a white on white background with some stunning two-toned teal hanging ornaments with silver accents.

I die cut the Triangle Pattern die cut from vellum and overlaid it on white cardstock for the tone-on-tone white background.

I stamped the ornaments from the Ornaments Stamp Set using with the SSS Mint Ink and SSS Teal Ink with the Rock 'n Roll Technique (adding two colors of ink to a single stamped image). I added glitz to the die cuts with the Sakura Stardust Glitter Pen and Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Marker. I die cut the inked ornaments using the Ornaments Die Cuts. I die cut the ornament tops from some silver glitter paper and glued the ornament pieces together.

I "hung" the ornmanets from the top of the card using May Arts Silver Twine and glued the ornaments in place on the card front. I secured the other end of the string on the back of the panel using a strong adhesive and popped up the panel on the card front with my favorite foam adhesive.

I stamped the greeting for the front of my card on a strip of vellum using sentiments from the Ornaments Stamp Set and embossed the greeting using SSS Silver Embossing Powder.

I finished the card front with Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins and silver confetti.

I finished the inside of the card with a stamped and embossed greeting from the Inside Holiday Greetings Stamp Set.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Block Party Letters

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the brand new Block Party Letters Stamp Set. I created an easy stamped tag perfect for adding to gift packages this coming holiday season! 

I die cut a tag using the Tags A Lot Creative Cuts die collection from some smooth white cardstock. I cut another tag from Schoolhouse Red Cardstock and the hole reinforcement from some silver foil paper.

I stamped the word "joy" with the alphabet stamps from the Block Party Letters Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I stamped the decorative string of ornaments and rest of the greeting using the new Alpine Carolers Stamp Set. I colored in the letters and ornaments using Copic Markers (the individual marker colors are listed and linked below in supplies). 

I adhered the two die cut tags back to back (the red tag covers up the not-so-pretty back of the white tag and adds a fun pop of color! I adhered the silver hole reinforcement die cut and threaded some Pretty Pink Posh red twine through the hole.

Easy peasy!

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Season's Greetings (video)

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the brand new Season's Greetings Stamp Set. I created a one layer card using only stamps from the stamp set, two colors of ink and an embossed greeting!

 

I staped the greeting from the Season's Greetings Stamp Set at a slight angle on the bottom 1/3 of the card using Frost Versamark Ink and heat embossing the sentiment with Simon Says Stamp Gold Embossing Powder.

I stamped the snowflakes from the Season's Greetings Stamp Set starting in the upper left corner of the card and working my way out and down two-thirds from the top using Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink and Tsukineko Golden Glitz Delicata Ink.

I added Doodlebug Gold Dot Sprinkles to the center of the large gold stamped snowflakes and pearl gemstones to the center of the large white stamped snowflakes.

I finished the card by rounding the bottom two corners with the 1/2" corner chomper.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Alpine Carolers (video)

Happy Monday!

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the brand new Alpine Carolers Stamp Set and coordinating Alpine Carolers Creative Cuts dies. These carolers are absolutely the cutest! I wanted to create a card with these cute carolers that resembled the "Who's of Whoville" (The Grinch That Stole Christmas) singing. You know that scene from Christmas morning where they are still celebrating even though the Grinch removed everything? I love that scene. In fact, I love that movie. One of my all-time childhood favorites!

To create my singing carolers, I stamped the images from the Alpine Carolers Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them in with Copics (the individual marker colors are listed and linked below in supplies). I really wanted the clothing on my carolers to "pop" so I used bright colors for their outfits. I die cut the images with the coordinating Alpine Carolers Creative Cuts dies and set them aside to work on the background.

I used the large stitched rectangle from the Peek A Frame die collection to die cut the Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper twice. For one of the rectangles, I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills die to create a snowy hill. I used Wild Honey Distress Ink to create the "sun" coming up over the hoizon. I filled in the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and darkened the sky with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. I added a bit of the Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to the top edge of the snowy border and stamped the greeting from the Alpine Carolers Stamp Set.

I adhered the border to the inked background with foam adhesive and added the die cut carolers with foam adhesvie as well. I stamped some music notes from the Alpine Carolers Stamp Set using black ink and filled in the music notes with a white gel pen.

Stamped Watercolored Poinsettia Holiday Card (video)

Today I have a holiday card featuring some pretty poinsettia florals from Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp.

I created the embossed resist background with the MFT Script Background Stamp and Forest Moss and Bundled Sage Distress Inks applied with the Mini Ink Blending Tool. I applied the inks with the lightest at top to the darker ink near the bottom. I created the frame by die cutting 3 of the largest frames from the MFT Rectangle Frames Die-namics Set and gluing them one on top of another for a dimensional frame look.

 

I stamped the poinsettia from the Peace Poinsettia Stamp Set by coloring in the stamp with the Festive Berries Distress Ink, Bundled Sage Distress Ink and Forest Moss Distress Ink. I smoothed out the stamped image with a bit of water and a small paintbrush.

I die cut the Poinsettia Parade die from watercolor paper and watercolored the die cut images with the same Distress Ink colors. I assembled the florals, tucking some under parts of the frame.

I stamped the greeting from the Peace Poinsettia Stamp Set on vellum and embossed it with black embossing powder. Then I die cut the greeting using one of the Fishtail Flags Die-namics dies and tucked the straight edge under the black frame. I finished the card with green pearl gemstones.

Simon Says Stamp November 2014 Card Kit | "Happy Holidays" Card (video) + GIVEAWAY

Hello today I'm sharing another card I created using the November 2014 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. I created a snowy scene on a strip of cardstock using the embossed resist technique for the background and adding stamped trees, snow drifts and hearts.

I stamped the snow "dots" from the Be Joyful Stamp Set on white cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed the "snow" with white embossing powder. Then I applied Peacock Feathers Distress Ink over the embossed area using the Mini Ink Blending Tool to create the "sky".

I die cut snow drifts for the bottom of the scene using the Stitched Slopes and Hills dies. I stamped the greeting from the Be Joyful Stamp Set on the top snow drift using MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.

I stamped the trees from the Be Joyful Stamp Set using Fern Ink and Green Apple Ink and fussy cut the images. For the tree "trunks" I trimmed a thin piece of the Khaki Cardstock and inked the strip with Sparrow Ink to darken the cardstock.

I adorned the trees with chunky glitter adhered with Glossy Accents. I embellishmed the card with the enamel hearts from the November Kit and added patterned paper strips along either side of the snowy scene.

I finished the corners with the Corner Chomper Crop-a-dile.

Pretty Pink Posh + Winnie & Walter Blog Hop (video)

Welcome to the Pretty Pink Posh + Winnie & Walter Inspiration Blog Hop!

I created a shaker card by combining Winnie & Walter Stamps with a Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 2 die and of course fabulous sequins!

I die cut the window frame from smooth white cardstock using the Stitched Duo 2 die and the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Lawn Cuts die. I created the "window" from vellum for this card by die cutting another A2 sized rectangle usign the Lawn Fawn die. Then I stamped and embossed the greetings from the Winnie & Walter The Big Bold and Blessings and Big Bold You on the vellum using gold and white embossing powders.

 

For the floral border I stamped the flowers and leaves from The Big The Bold & The Extras on watercolor paper using Versamark and then embossed with white embossing powder. I colored in the images with watercolors made from Distress Inks (Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw, Crushed Olive, Forest Moss and Barn Door) + water. I fussy cut the images and assembled them along the bottom edge of my shaker. I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins in Lemon Meringue, Lemon Drop and Tangerine to the front of the card using the Zots Bling Glue Dots.

I filled my shaker with Sparkling Clear 6mm sequins, Gold Metallic 4mm sequins and Gold 6mm Confetti.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Boutique Borders (video)

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the new Boutique Borders Stamp Set. I used three colors of Mama Elephant Pigment Ink (Mojito, Lemongrass and Posh PInk) with one of the border stamps to create my own plaid patterned paper background on the die cut sittched rectangle die cut using the Index Card Creative Cuts dies. 

The background is super bright, which I love, however stamping the hanging snowflakes and greeting directly on the background wouldn't make them "pop"! Instead, I die cut the scallop rectangle from vellum using the Index Card Creative Cuts dies and stamped and embossed the images and greeting on it before adhering it over the bright background. You still get the fabulous background and the stamped and embossed images are easily seen as they're on vellum!

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Peace On Earth (video)

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the brand new Peace On Earth Stamp Set. It's another gorgeous scripty style greeting set that can be used so many ways. I love versatile stamps, don't you?!!!

I die cut the background using the large stitched rectangle from the Peek A Frames Creative Cuts die collection. I stamped the large greeting from the Peace On Earth Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and carefully applied three colors of embossing powder for the multi-colored bold embossed greeting. 

I stamped the rest of the greeting using phrases from the Jolly and Merry Stamp Set stamped with Unicorn White Pigment Ink.

I stamped and embossed the ornaments from the Peace On Earth Stamp Set from the top of the card and finished the design with Pretty Pink Posh Christmas Mix sequins.
