Welcome to the Mama Elephant Release Design Team blog hop!
Our newest release is now live and available for purchase in the store!
For my card share today I die cut a piece of smooth white cardstock using the Femme Frames stitched rectangle die and stamped the cute monkey from one of my all-time favorite ME stamp sets, Up and Away using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
I stamped the balloons from the brand new Balloon Letters Stamp Set using MFT Hybrid Inks in Wild Cherry, Orange Fizz, Lemon Drop, Gum Drop Green and Blu Raspberry. I chose the hybrid inks because they play nicely with Copic Markers and I didn't want the colors to bleed once I started coloring around them to fill in the background.
Once I had the Balloon Letters stamped I started coloring in the background of my card with Copic Markers (B63, B66, B69, B79), blending and blending and blending until I got the desired result. I left a bit from the top right corner to the bottom left corner lighter so it appeared that the cute little monkey was drifting in a beam of light plus it helps highlight the stamping on the card.
To add even more interest I took the Copic Colorless Blender and added dots in varying sizes to the lightest area of the card. The Colorless Blender works almost like bleach where it moves the ink away from wherever you lay it down.
I went back in with the background color markers and added dots to all those areas as well to really give the background a fun "texture" type of look.
I added a bit of shading to the Balloon Letters with Copic Markers in coordinating shades and then added a bit of sparkle with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Marker.
I colored in the monkey and added detailing with my favorite white gel pen and black gel pen.
I stamped the greetings "wishing you" and "birthday" from the Happy Everything Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and heat embossed them with the SSS White Fine Detail Embossing Powder.
I added a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear 4mm sequins and 6mm sequins and I die cut some confetti from glitter paper using the Confetti die and added the star confetti with a glue pen.
I die cut a couple of banners from patterned papers using the Pierced Fishtail Banners Die-namics and stapled them behind the stamped and colored rectangle and adhered the panel to the die cut rectangle mat using foam adhesive. Then I attached the entire thing to my white cardstock base.
