Welcome to the Newton's Nook Designs "Deck the Halls with Inky Paws" Blog Hop!
Today I created a TV shaped shaker card with the brand new Simon Says Stamp Shake It Up TV Shaker Craft Die and I stamped several of the super adorable Newton's Nook Designs Flaky Family masked and stamped images inside! I combined two of the greetings from the Newton's Nook Designs Flaky Family stamp set above the TV shaker and finished the card with a stamped and colored string of ornaments from the Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Wishes Stamp Set along the top of the card.
To create the TV shaker, I first die cut the TV from SSS Slate Cardstock, SSS Black Cardstock and silver foil paper using the new SSS TV Shaker Die.
I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to fit the back of the TV and lightly traced the TV opening with a pencil. This gave me a guideline for where to stamp the snowmen. Beginning with the elements in the front and working back, I stamped and masked the hats and snowmen from the Newton's Nook Designs Flaky Family to build the cute family of snowmen. :) Once I had the family stamped, I erased the pencil line and colored in the scene with Copic Markers (the individual marker colors are linked below in supplies). I added snow" to the Copic colored background and images by taking the Colorless Blender and adding dots of "snow". The Colorless Blender "moves" or "pushes" the ink away (think bleach on fabric!).
I added detail to the eyes and buttons with the Sakura Black Gel Pen, white stripes to the pink hat with the Sakura White Gel Pen and stamped the snowmen's arms using the SSS Sparrow Ink.
I cut a piece of transparency and adhered it to the back of the front TV Shaker frame. I trimmed foam tape and added two layers on all four sides of the frame, making sure the foam tape was right up against each other, then I filled the shaker with seed beads. I backed the shaker with the stamped and colored snowmen scene.
For the background on my card, I die cut SSS Fog Cardstock using the largest SSS In Stitches Stitched Rectangle Die. I stamped the two phrases for the greeting from the Newton's Nook Designs Flaky Family Stamp Set using MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.
I stamped the string of ornaments from the Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Wishes Stamp Set along the top of the SSS Fog Cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored in the ornaments with Copic Markers (the individual marker colors are linked below in supplies). I colored in the "white" portions on the ornaments with the Sakura White Gel Pen and added small dots of glitter to the green ornaments with the Sakura Stardust Glitter Pen.
I adhered the shaker to the stitched rectangle background and assembled the pieces to make the vintage TV! SO fun!!!!! I *heart* THESE shaped shakers!!!
