How about a little more elephant love this Monday morning? I can't get enough of the wplus elephants in the Unforgettable and Bubble Talk Stamp Sets. I used the adorable elephant from the Bubble Talk Stamp Set with some balloons from the Mama Elephant Balloon Et cetera Stamp Set and greetings from the Unforgettable Stamp Set for my card share today.
To create the square base to stamp on, I die the two largest frames from smooth white cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. I set the inside piece aside and die cut three additional frames for later.
Taking that smaller inside square, I stamped the elephant from the Bubble Talk Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I stamped the greeting from the Unforgettable Stamp Set. I colored in the elephant with Copic Markers (the individual marker colors are listed and linked below in supplies).
For the balloons I stamped the images from the Mama Elephant Balloon Et cetera Stamp Set using the My Favorite Things Wild Cherry, Orange Fizz, Lemondrop, Gumdrop Green and Tropical Teal Hybrid Inks. I drew the balloon tails using a black Copic Multiliner.
Taking some yellow-green Copic Markers (YG25, YG17), I drew and colored in a landscape for my elephant. I added some shadowing under the elephant and also feathered in some blades of grass for texture. For the sky, I took the chisel tip of a light blue marker (B000) to quickly color in the sky, then I switched to the brush tip to get right around the rest of the images. I added a little shading with B00.
I adhered the stamped and colored square to a 4 1/4" square card base and adhered the four white stitched square frames around the colored square to frame up the design.
I finished the card with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Marker over the balloons for subtle sparkle. I stamped "happy birthday" from the Unforgettable Stamp Set inside the card.
