I love how the greetings from the SSS Happy and Smile Stamp Set mix and match to create different greetings for lots of different occasions. I combined the birthday greetings, cardstock and bright patterned papers from the kit with the SSS Falling Stars Background Stamp, SSS Frames Dies, and SSS Balloon Bouquet Die for a fun, easy inlay-style birthday card.
To create the inlay background, I die cut the white cardstock with the SSS Frames Dies and SSS Balloon Bouquet Die. I cut the SSS Island Blue Cardstock from the kit using a SSS Frames Dies as well, keeping only the inside rounded rectangle and setting the scallop frame aside for another project. I used a bit of post it tape to hold together the white scallop frame and blue rectangle and positioned the SSS Balloon Bouquet Die to the frames and ran it through the big shot, discarding the balloons and balloon outline pieces, keeping only the two background pieces. I die cut the balloons using the SSS Balloon Bouquet Die, keeping the inside pieces and discarding the outlines.
I stamped the blue cardstock background with the SSS Falling Stars Background Stamp and SSS Island Blue Ink using the MISTI Stamping Tool.
I stamped the greeting from the SSS Happy and Smile Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
To create the inlay:
- Adhere the white scallop frame to the blue cardstock card base.
- Adhere the blue stamped rectangle inside the scallop frame.
- Adhere the balloon outline die cuts to the card and fill in the other blue background pieces.
- Fill in each of the balloons with the patterned paper balloons and apply a layer of Glossy Accents to each.
I finished the cards with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Bermuda Blue Sequins.
