Lawn Fawn Treat Yourself | "Treat Yourself" Card

Welcome to the Lawn Fawn June Inspiration Week!

Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the new Treat Yourself Stamp Set and coordinating Treat Yourself dies. I combined these cute new images with the Here's The Scoop Stamp Set and brand new coordinating Here's The Scoop dies to create an ice cream shop window.

The images from the Treat Yourself Stamp Set and Here's The Scoop Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic Markers then die cut with the coordinating Treat Yourself dies and Here's The Scoop dies. I applied a layer of Glossy Accents to the aqua ice cream dishes and set them aside to dry. I colored over the cherries with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen.

For the ice cream shop window, I used a design from the Silhouette Online Store (Design ID #44304) die cut from Lawn Fawn Mon Amie 6x6 Paper Pad and woodgrain patterned paper and assembled the window on a card base created with the Simon Says Stamp Cream Cardstock, rounding all four corners with a 1/4" corner rounder.

For the greeting, I stamped a banner from the Home Sweet Home Stamp Set on vellum using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The greeting from the Treat Yourself Stamp Set was stamped on the banner and heat embossed with gold embossing powder then die cut with the coordinating Home Sweet Home dies.

The sweet images were adhered in the "window" to finish the card design.

Lawn Fawn Sweet Smiles | "Happy Birthday Have A Ball" Card

Welcome to the Lawn Fawn June Inspiration Week!

Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the new Sweet Smiles Stamp Set and coordinating Sweet Smiles Dies. I colored the gumballs in red, white and blue and combined one of the greetings with a greeting from the So Much To Say Stamp Set to create a birthday themed card.

The gumball machine image and gumballs from the Sweet Smiles Stamp Set was stamped on smooth white cardstock and colored in with Copic Markers. I added the fun faces to all the gumballs with the images from the stamp set then die cut the image with the coordinating Sweet Smiles Dies. I applied a layer of Glossy Accents to the "glass" portion of the gumball machine and set it aside to dry for a good long while. ;)

The patterned papers from the Doodlebug Stars & Stripes 6x6 Paper Pad, vellum and smooth white cardstock were die cut using the Large Stitched Rectangle Dies and Small Stitched Rectangle Dies and layered on the front of a white card base.

The greeting was stamped on the vellum rectangle using the So Much To Say Stamp Set and Sweet Smiles Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with rouge embossing powder and white embossing powder. 

The gumball machine image and gumballs were adhered to the front of the card to finish the design.

Lawn Fawn Scripty Congrats | Baby Cards

Welcome to the Lawn Fawn June Inspiration Week!

Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the new Thinking of You Border Die and Scripty Congrats Die. I love to pair the big bold scripty dies with smaller stamped sentiments for a eye catching greeting. For today's cards I paired the Scripty Congrats Die with the Plus One stamped and die cut images for these sweet baby girl and baby boy cards.

I stamped the stork from the Plus One stamp set and the baby bundles from the Hello Baby stamp set on smooth white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored in the images with Copic Markers. The images were die cut using the coordinating Plus One Dies and Hello Baby Dies.

For the framed scene, I die cut three "frames" from Simon Says Stamp Cream Cardstock using the Large Stitched Oval Stackable Dies and Small Stitched Oval Stackable Dies and adhered the frames to a cream card base. The inside "sky" for the scene was die cut from a sheet of Beachside 12x12 patterned paper. 

To create the clouds for the scene, I die cut the cream cardstock ovals (leftover from the frames) and a die cut vellum oval using the Puffy Cloud Borders Dies. The clouds were adhered over the center "sky" background and the stork and baby bundle die cut stamped images were adhered as shown.

The Scripty Congrats Die was die cut from Simon Says Stamp Cream Cardstock and I colored over the die cut word with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Marker and adhered the word to the card. 

To complete the greeting, I stamped a banner from the Bannerific Stamp Set on vellum using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I stamped a greeting from the Plus One stamp set and heat embossed the greeting with gold embossing powder and die cut the banner with a coordinating Bannerific die. The banner is adhered below the Scripty Congrats Die and I finished the card with some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.

Lawn Fawn My Silly Valentine | Non-Valentine Milk Carton Gift Boxes

Welcome to the Lawn Fawn June Inspiration Week!

Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the new dies that coordinate with older Lawn Fawn stamp sets: Happy Summer Dies, Make Lemonade Dies, Here's The Scoop Dies, Love 'n Breakfast Dies and My Silly Valentine Dies. I've shown the Happy Summer dies and Make Lemonade Dies on THIS card I created for Father's Day and I'll be showcasing some of the Here's The Scoop dies a little later this week. Today I have some Milk Carton Gift Boxes featuring the My Silly Valentine Stamp Set and coordinating dies to make gift boxes for anytime, not Valentine's Day!

The images from the My Silly Valentine Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock and colored with Copic Markers then die cut with the new coordinating My Silly Valentine Dies. A layer of Glossy Accents was applied to each image and I set them aside to dry for a couple of hours.

The gift boxes were die cut from Lawn Fawn Mon Amie 6x6 Paper Pad, Beachside 6x6 Paper Pad and Mon Amie 12x12 patterned paper using the Milk Carton Gift Boxes.

The scallop borders were die cut from Simon Says Stamp Cream Cardstock using the largest Scalloped Border die and adhered along the bottom of each unassembled milk carton. I folded the milk carton gift boxes into shape and punched holes through the tops of each. I threaded the Gold Sparkle Trimmings twine through the tops of each and tied into a bow.

I die cut labels and a banner from the Simon Says Stamp Cream Cardstock using the Stitched Labels dies and Large Stitched Journaling Card die collection. I stamped greetings from the My Silly Valentine Stamp Set on each using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with gold embossing powder. I clipped a label to each gift box with a gold metallic clothes pin and adhered a My Silly Valentine Stamp Set accent to each box along the scalloped border.

Bella Blvd Fabric Project | Quilted Camera Pillow

As much as I love piecing big quilts sometimes I need a smaller project and my favorite is pillow covers! I love that with a new pillow cover you can completely change the look of a room.

For my pillow today, I was inspired by the Riley Blake Bella Blvd Snapshots Camera Multi fabric to create this pillow form for my teen daughter’s room (her room is done in aqua/black/white). I backed my pillow cover with the camera fabric but for the front I used THIS awesome free download from Fat Quarter Shop, part of their Snapshots Quilt Along. The download is free however the quilt along benefits St. Jude and if you can they ask that you donate to St. Jude for each download. I give $5 for each of the design I download. It’s for a great cause!

The camera block is part of the quilt backing design but by adding just a couple of simple borders you can make it into a pillow so easily! I’ve included a sketch of how I made my pillow and the sizes of the borders.

I combined lots of Riley Blake Bella Blvd Fabric scraps from my stash to piece together the camera and Instead of solid white for all the background I used my favorite, favoritest Snapshots Family Gray. I love the white background with gray doodles. It’s almost embarrassing how much yardage I have of this print! I quilted the front with a diagonal grid straight line quilting and used that great Snapshots Camera Multi fabric for the back.

My way of sewing pillow covers has evolved over the years and my current method is by far my favorite for a few reasons. 

• First, all my pillow covers are removable. I have kids and a dog and they need washed periodically plus I like to switch them out and a removable pillow cover makes it easy to do that. However, I personally don’t like envelope backs for my pillows even though they are the easiest to sew. I think they make the pillows lose their shape and just don’t look as nice over time. All of my pillow covers have zippers. I tried the invisible zipper thing many, many times and sometimes it looked okay and most of the time it didn’t. I can’t seem to master that technique! I came across THIS tutorial for adding zippers under a hidden flap on the back of pillow covers and it changed my whole pillow making process. All my pillow covers are sewn this way now and I’ve never been happier. The pillow forms come out and go in so easy, the pillows have nice shape due to a zipper closure and they look nice and finished with that hidden zipper panel!

• Seond, I always, always add lining to the backing fabric (and sometimes the front if I’m not quilting the front). It’s an extra step and it takes a bit longer to get to the pillow cover sewing, but it’s so worth the extra effort! I follow the steps in THIS tutorial here and this makes the pillow cover much sturdier and it holds up better over time.

• Third, my pillow covers are all exactly the size of the pillow form I’m using or 1/2” bigger. For example, my pillow form for the camera pillow cover was 20” square and I cut my backing and quilted front to 20 1/2” square. This will give you a firm and full pillow. If you like your pillow covers to fit a bit looser, you might want to go up 3/4” to 1” bigger than the pillow form you’re using.

Welcome to the Lawn Fawn June Inspiration Week!

Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the new Owen's ABC's Stamp Set, Owen's ABC's Dies, Large Stitched Oval Stackable Dies, and Small Stitched Oval Stackable Dies. 

The scene was created with images from the Life Is Good Stamp Set, framed up with the Large Stitched Oval Stackable Dies and Small Stitched Oval Stackable Dies and I changed out one of the words in a greeting phrase from the Life Is Good Stamp Set with the Owen's ABC's Stamp Set to highlight the word "you" and to add a punch of color to the top of the card scene.

The images from the Life Is Good Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock, colored in with Copic Markers and die cut with the coordinating Life Is Good dies. I did partial die cutting with the crab and hammock to give the images the illusion of being a single image.

The background of the scene was die cut using a Small Stitched Oval Stackable Die. The sand border from the Life Is Good Stamp Set was stamped along the bottom edge and colored in with Copic Markers.

I partially stamped a greeting from the Life Is Good Stamp Set using the Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink. For the word "you" in the greeting, I used the Owen's ABC's Stamp Set inked with the Lawn Fawn Lobster Ink, Sunflower Ink and Fish Tank Ink.

Once the greeting was stamped, I added blue sky with hand drawn clouds with Copic Markers then I stamped seagulls from the Life Is Good Stamp Set using the Lawn Fawn Hippo Ink.

I created a "frame" for the scene by die cutting some woodgrain paper using a Large Stitched Rectangle Die and a Small Stitched Oval Stackable Die. I matted the scene with a black frame die cut using both a Large Stitched Oval Stackable Die and Small Stitched Oval Stackable Die.

Lawn Fawn Let's BBQ | "You're Smokin'" Card

Welcome to the Lawn Fawn June Inspiration Week!

Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the new Let's BBQ Stamp Set and coordinating Let's BBQ Lawn Cuts Dies. I paired the Let's BBQ images with the cute ants from the Happy Summer Stamp Set and some trees from the Let It Snow Stamp Set (I love finding uses for holiday stamps for other times of the year!) to create my card.

The images from the Let's BBQ Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock and colored with Copic Markers. I masked the steak, flames and grill using masking paper for a single image I could color and fussy cut. I colored all the images with Copic Markers and cut everything out. *The "charcoal" in the grill was created by coloring with the dot technique and finished by adding dots of the Sakura Clear Stardust Glitter Pen for a tiny bit of sparkle.

For the background I lightly traced one of the Stitched Hillside Borders on smooth white cardstock and then stamped a tree landscape following the pencil line with the pine trees from the Let It Snow Stamp Set using Hero Arts Soft Olive Ink and Simon Says Stamp Olive Ink. I used both first and second generation stamping for a backdrop full of trees.

The landscape borders were cut from smooth white cardstock using the Stitched Hillside Borders dies and colored in with Peeled Paint Distress Ink using the small round ink blending tool.

The borders were adhered to the background and then the ants from the Happy Summer Stamp Set were stamped along the border using Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink. To give them a tiny bit of dimension and sheen I applied a layer of Sakura Black Glaze Pen on top of each ant.

The rest of the images were adhered along the border and a greeting from the Let's BBQ Stamp Set was stamped using Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink. I finished the design by stamping "smoke" rising from the grill using Simon Says Stamp White Pigment Ink.

I finally have another Paper Doll Art Journal Page to share. I know it's been awhile and many of you have been asking. I have three started and unfinished. Too many deadlines and not enough time to finish pages and edit videos! My plan is to get caught up through July within the next couple of weeks.

Today I'm sharing my April 2015 page. I used some of the leftover Bazzill Gold Foil specialty paper from the Simon Says Stamp April 2015 Card Kit to outfit the Julie Nutting Rita Doll Stamp. I added a die cut window and "floor" to the background and stamped a colored a sweet kitten from the Mama Elephant Purrfect Pair stamp set to sit on the windowsill.

The Julie Nutting Rita Doll Stamp was stamped on an older scrap of Echo Park Yours Truly text paper with the MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink and her skin and hair were colored in with Copic Markers. The dress was stamped on a piece of Bazzill Gold Foil specialty paper and colored with Copic Markers to add detail. The belt and shoes were stamped on DCWV Foiled paper in gold, fussy cut and glued to the doll. The doll's gloves were stamped on a piece of Avery Elle Neutral paper, fussy cut and adhered to the doll, then the entire doll was fussy cut.

The small kitten from the Mama Elephant Purrfect Pair stamp set was stamped on the text paper and colored in with Copic Markers, then fussy cut.

The background of the page is a 6x8 trimmed piece of Webster's Pages Composition & Color Wallpaper patterned paper. The floor was created with some MME woodgrain paper. The window was die cut from a MME woodgrain patterned paper and the October Afternoon Campfire Star Gazing paper using a design in the Silhouette Online store (Arch Window: Design ID #42631). I adhered the window to the background and the kitten sitting in the windowsill. 

The phrase and date were stamped along the bottom edge with Kerri Bradford Studio stamps using Delicata Golden Glitz Ink, Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy Ink and MFT Natural Hybrid Ink.

The ball of yarn is from the Simon Says Stamp You Are Pawesome Stamp Set and the paw prints from the Mama Elephant Purrfect Pair stamp set.

The components of the card kit were paired with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Dies and the Tags Dies for this simple layered tags thank you card.

The Authentique Seaside 6x6 paper was die cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die and adhered to the Cream Cardstock card base.

The tags were die cut from Authentique Seaside 6x6 paper and vellum using a Tags Die. A greeting from the Sailing Stamp Set was stamped on the vellum tag using Frost Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The life preserver from the Sailing Stamp Set was stamped on smooth white cardstock, colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut, then adhered to the vellum tag.

The tags were secured together using the twine from the kit. A charm from the Tim Holtz Souvenir Adornments Collection was threaded onto the twine as well.

The card was finished with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.
