Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp Splash of Color Release Blog Hop!
I combined several of the new stamps, dies, and inks for my cards shares today. I only used white cardstock for everything on this card but with an ink blending tool and Simon Says Stamp Inks I was able to create a colorful beachy scene for the cute girl and boy images from the Pool Play Stamp Set. I created two cards using the same basic design for each.
The girl, boy, duck, and frog images from the Pool Play Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored in with Copic Markers. The individual marker colors I used are linked below in supplies and shown in the upper left corner of the screen in the how to video tutorial. The colored images were die cut with the coordinating Summer Fun Die Set.
Details were added to the swim trunks and swim dress with the Sakura White Gel Pen, the eyes on all critters were darkened with the Sakura Black Glaze Pen and Glossy Accents was applied to the goggles on each image.
For the background scene, I die cut multiple rectangles using a die from the Stitched Rectangle Die Collection. From one rectangle I cut 2 wavy borders using the Border Waves Dies and from another cut "sand" using a Stitched Slopes and Hills Die. The sky was colored in with the Lake Shores Ink and an Ink Blending Tool. The waves were colored with the High Dive Ink, the sand with Khaki Ink and the sun with Duckling Ink. The sun was die cut using the Hello Sunshine Frame after the paper was colored so I didn't have to try and color tiny, tiny cardstock pieces.
For the greeting on each card I adhered the die cut sun (colored over with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen), a die cut "sunshine" using the Sunshine Die and stamped a greeting from the Happy Block Greetings Stamp Set using Black Ink.
To finish each card I stamped the splash from the Pool Play Stamp Set using High Dive Ink, stamped the fish using Melon Ink and Hot Mama Ink and die cut them using the coordinating Summer Fun Die Set. I applied Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen over each. I detailed the "sand" using the Sakura White Gel Pen and the Stardust Glitter Pen.
I created ink swatches of all twelve of the new Simon Says Stamp Ink colors using the Tags Die, the Brother P-Touch Label Maker and the sunshine stamp from the My Sunshine Stamp Set.
Here's a comparison of the twelve new Splash of Color Inks with the twelve inks from the Color of Fun release. It's a whole lot of pretty right there!
Here's a look at all 24 colors from the last two releases. I'm working on completing the swatches for all the other Simon Says Stamp Inks and I'll share a look at all of them once I'm finished.
They ink beautifully, the colors are amazing and you just can't go wrong with these inks!
