Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp From All Of Us Blog Hop!
I absolutely adore the new Simon & Dexter Christmas images and created a layered scene card showcasing some of my favorite images from the stamp set paired with the trees from the older Home For The Holidays Stamp Set. Lots of layers give the illusion of a framed winter scene. I used so many die cut frame layers so that I didn't need to use foam adhesive.
I die cut multiple frame layers from smooth white cardstock using the Stitched Rectangle Dies and Stitched Oval Dies. I die cut a solid rectangle layer from white cardstock, vellum and a transparency. The assortment of layers is going to give a dimensional winter scene look to the design. From one of the oval die cut centers from the frames I die cut a snowy border using the Stitched Slopes and Hills Dies.
I stamped the dog, sled, and packages from the Simon & Dexter Christmas Stamp Set and the trees from the Home For The Holidays Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored in the images with Copic Markers. All of the images were die cut with the coordinating Simon & Dexter Christmas Dies and Holidays At Home Dies. Add accents to the eyes on the dog with Sakura Black Glaze Pen and Glossy Accents to the nose. I used the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen for the bows on the gift packages.
Stamp greeting from the Simon & Dexter Christmas on the transparency layer using Black Staz On Ink and stamp snow using White Staz On Ink.
To assemble the scene:
- Adhere 2 of the frames on the solid white die cut rectangle. Adhere three of the trees to the background.
- Adhere vellum layer over the frames and trees layer.
- Adhere 2 more frames over the vellum. Adhere snow border, trees, dog, sled, etc. to the vellum.
- Adhere 3 more frames over the scene.
- Adhere the transparency layer.
- Finish with a final frame layer.
I finished the card by attaching the layered scene to a side fold card base and added Glossy Accents to the centers of some of the stamped snowflakes on the transparency layer.
