Welcome to Day 1 of my last minute Handmade Holiday 2015 Series!
I'm back with another year of last minute handmade ideas! Even with the craziness of the season I like to be able to add handmade touches to gifts for our friends and family. All this week I'll be sharing quick (an hour or less) Handmade Holiday ideas for cards, tags and gift wrapping sure to add that handmade touch we all love. Most ideas will include multiples (today I created a set of 6 stamped gift card envelopes).... gotta love that!
In addition to sharing Handmade Holiday projects all week, I am extending this year's series by two days for a total of seven days of inspiration! Plus, I am especially excited to share that after reaching out to several companies and online stores, there are amazing GIVEAWAYS each and every day plus a great coupon code from Ellen Hutson that you can use all week long at EllenHutson.com! Use coupon code handmadeholidays for 10% off all in-stock items between December 14-17.
STAMPED GIFT CARD ENVELOPES
Gift Cards are such an easy gift, especially for teens and other hard to buy for friends and family. One way to make giving a gift card special is by adding a decorated gift card envelope. The Essentials By Ellen North Pole Stamp Set and the Mama Elephant Lucky Envelope pair perfectly for wonderful stamped gift cards. And with the MISTI Stamping Tool, multiple perfectly stamped envelopes are quick and easy!
Assembly-line style is the best way to create multiples of these gift card envelopes quickly and easily! I started by die cutting the envelopes from Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red Cardstock, Simon Says Stamp Khaki Cardstock, and Neenah Solar White Cardstock using the Mama Elephant Lucky Envelope Die.
Next, while the envelope was still flat, and using the MISTI Stamping Tool, I masked off part of the Essentials By Ellen North Pole Stamp Set with post it tape and then stamped the main design on each of the envelopes using Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink. Then, once the stamped was clean and dry, I masked off the design except for the strip I previously masked, and stamped the image again with Lawn Fawn Yeti White Pigment Ink on the red envelopes and with Lawn Fawn Lobster Ink on the khaki and white envelopes.
I stamped the santa and the reindeer image from the Essentials By Ellen North Pole Stamp Set on each of the envelopes using the Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink, again masking off parts of the envelope. I stamped the elf seal stamp on the back of each envelope to complete the stamping.
Next, I folded up each envelope on the score lines and secured the envelope using the Thermoweb 1/4" Double Sided Tape.
I finished each envelope by wrapping some Lawn Fawn Red Sparkle Twine around the design and threading on a silver jingle bell before securing in a bow.
I love that there is a spot to fill in the recipient's name on the line and that's it! These incredibly detailed envelopes were quick and easy to create!
