Welcome to the Lawn Fawn December Inspiration Week!
Lawn Fawn has some incredible new stamps and dies for their Valentine's Release that will be available for purchase a little later this week and each day the Design Team is showcasing the new products leading up to the release!
I love decorating with hearts and the new Heart Stackables combined with the I Love You Border Die and Scripty XOXO Die combined with watercolor cardstock and bright, happy Distress Inks make for some lovely inlay-style hearts! You could even pop these on a card or string a bunch together (which is what I'm going to do) to make a lovely watercolored distress heart garland!
*Please note that new Lawn Fawn stamps, dies and inks shown in this video might not yet be available for purchase. This post will be updated with appropriate links as soon as the new products are for sale. The December Release is now available!
To create these hearts I die cut two of each size from watercolor cardstock. One will be the front of the heart and the other the back. On the front panel, I die cut the I Love You Border Die and Scripty XOXO Die from the two largest Heart Stackables Dies. Being careful to keep all the tiny, tiny inside pieces of the letters/background, I carefully set the phrase aside and started to work on the heart.
On the largest heart I applied Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and Spun Sugar Distress Ink to the heart pieces and the inside pieces of the letters. I spirtzed the pieces with water from a Distress Sprayer (seriously the best sprayer invented....where has it been all my life?!). I let the water sit for about 30 seconds and then carefully dabbed up the excess water, leaving behind this gorgeous lighter areas for an amazing distressed background!
Once the watercolored background was dry, I applied adhesive to the backside of the other heart of the same size and carefully adhered the top and bottom Distress Inked panels to the solid heart. I carefully replaced the die cut phrase and then adhered the tiny, tiny Distress Inked pieces inside the letters to finish the heart design.
I did the same exact technique for the "XOXO" heart, only using Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and Twisted Citron Distress Ink. For the small heart, I just applied Abandoned Coral Distress Ink and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink before adding the water spritzes.
