It's been awhile since I've shared a Paper Doll Art Journal Page. For those who follow this series, I apologize. This page was started in July and the dolls have sat with an unfinished background for months. Life and work can get in the way but I'm determined to catch up before the month ends and finish out my second year of paper doll art journal pages. I used the Julie Nutting Marisol Doll Stamp and Adam Doll Stamp with the School Wear Stamps and Skirt and Pants Stamps with a Distress Inked background scene.
I stamped the Julie Nutting Marisol Doll Stamp and Adam Doll Stamp on Prima Buff Paper Pad and added sharing to the skin and eyes with Copic Markers. I stamped the clothing on the Authentique Seaside 6x6 Paper Pad patterned papers and fussy cut them to dress the dolls. The hat and bow were from the Boutique Stamp Set and the shoes from the Footwear Stamp Set.
I created a 6x8 background from watercolor cardstock and die cut a setting sun and palm tree on my Silhouette Cameo using a sunset design from the Silhouette Online Store. I die cut waves and sand borders from the watercolor cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders on the Big Shot Machine. I applied Distress Inks to the background and die cut pieces and then spritzed the inked pieces with water in a Distress Sprayer. I let the water droplets sit for 30-60 seconds and then dabbed up the water, leaving behind a great distressed background and scene.
I stamped a phrase from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Stamp Set using the SSS Black Dye Ink.

I get asked about the text/dictionary paper I use for my dolls a lot. I am using text papers from my scrapbooking stash. A lot of them are old and are no longer available but I like to use up what I have on hand. I've done a search and found similar and current text papers that you might be interested in. The paper doll stamps average 8" in height and it can be a challenge to find an acrylic block that fits them in both width and height. I love this Prima Handle Block.
The album I've chosen for all my paper doll art journaling pages is THIS Brighton Pier Handbook Album from Studio Calico.
