Hello! I'm back from my small blogging break with a new Valentine's themed Lawn Fawn card share today. I combine the some of my favorite Sweet Smiles stamped images with additional greetings from the Happy Everything Stamp Set and the Stitched Scallop dies and Stitched Borders dies for this pretty pink and red card. I love that these gum balls can be colored in so many different ways to create lots of different cards. Click HERE to see my red, white, and blue birthday version!
I stamped the images from the Sweet Smiles Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored in the images with Copic Markers. The individual marker colors are shown across the bottom of the screen in the how to video as well as linked below:
- GUMBALL MACHINE: R81, R83, R85, C2, C5, C7, BG10, Colorless Blender
- PINK GUMBALLS: R81, R83, R85
- MAGENTA GUMBALLS: RV63, RV55, RV66
- RED GUMBALLS: R24, R29, R39
After I finished coloring in the images, I added faces to the the gum balls with the faces in the Sweet Smiles Stamp Set, then I die cut the images with the coordinating Sweet Smiles Dies. I added detail to the eyes with the Sakura Black Gel Pen and then applied a layer of Glossy Accents over the "glass" of the gum ball machine and set it aside to dry.
I cut a 5.5" x 2.5" strip from watercolor cardstock and used the stitched die from the Stitched Borders dies collection on each long side. I applied Festive Berries, Picked Raspberry, and Spun Sugar Distress Inks to the strip and then spritzed it with water from a Distress Sprayer, blotting up the water after about 30 seconds with a dry paper towel and setting it aside to finish air drying. Once dry, I used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Spaced Hearts stencil and applied all three color of Distress Inks through the stencil to add tiny, tiny hearts to the background.
I stamped the "You're So Sweet" greeting from the Sweet Smiles Stamp Set using Plastic Flamingo Ink and the "Happy Valentine's Day" greeting from the Happy Everything Stamp Set using Lobster Ink.
I die cut two scallop panels from watercolor cardstock using the largest Stitched Scallop die and adhered it them to the backside of the greeting strip.
I trimmed another piece of watercolor cardstock to 5.5" x 4.25" and applied Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar Distress Inks to the pieces before spritzing it with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotting up the water after about 30 seconds with a dry paper towel and setting it aside to finish air drying. Once dry I adhered the greeting strip with foam adhesive. I adhered the stamped and colored images and adhered the whole thing to a side fold card base.
I finished the card with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh sequins attached with Bling Glue Dots.
