Lawn Fawn + Lucy's Little Things | "Have A Magical Day" Card

I'm so excited about the collaboration this week between Lawn Fawn and Lucy's Little Things. I created a magical fairy dust themed scene card using the Fairy Friends Stamps and coordinating dies, Puffy Cloud Borders Dies and beautiful Sparkle and Shine and Forget-Me-Not sequin mixes. I love the way the fairies and magic wands appear to be sprinkling sequins in the cloudy sky.

The fairy and wand images from the Fairy Friends Stamps were stamped on smooth white cardstock using the Intense Black Ink from Simon Says Stamp. I colored in the images with Copic Markers. Here are the combinations I used for each image:

BLUE FAIRY DRESS & WINGS: B41, B91, B95

SILVER/GRAY FAIRY DRESS & WINGS: W00, W1, W3

SKINTONE: E000, E11, R20

DIRTY BLOND HAIR: E40, E43, E44

BLACK HAIR: C3, C6, C8

I used the Wink of Stella Silver Brush Marker and Clear Glitter Brush Marker on the wings and magic wands and the Sakura Stardust Pen on the dresses and then die cut the images with the coordinating Fairy Friends dies.

For the background I die cut Simon Says Stamp Fog cardstock, smooth white cardstock, and vellum using the A2 sized Stitched Rectangle Frame Die. I die cut the inside white and vellum rectangles with the Puffy Cloud Borders Dies.

On one of the borders I stamped a greeting from the Fairy Friends Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I sprinkled some fairy dust sprinkles and heat embossed those too.

I layered the borders and adhered them to the fog background as shown. I adhered the fairies and then applied the Lucy's Little Things Sparkle and Shine and Forget-Me-Not sequins using Zots Bling Glue Dots.

I adhered three frames stacked one on top of another to a top fold card base and adhered the scene to the center of the card.

Bella Blvd Fabric Project | Pixelated Heart Quilted Pillow

Hello fabric loving friends!

Today I'm excited to be over on the Bella Blvd Blog sharing a new project using scraps of pink Bella Blvd Fabrics.

I love the look of pixelated heart quilted projects. I especially love hearts for February Valentine’s decorating but hearts are great for any time of year. I specifically chose scrappy 2 1/2” squares of pink Bella Blvd fabrics for my Scrappy Pixelated Heart Pillow to use for my Valentine’s decorating but by simply changing up the colors, this design could be used any time of the year.

What you need:

  • 30 - 2 1/2” squares printed fabric
  • 16 - 2 1/2” squares solid or neutral fabric
  • 2 - 4 1/2” x 12 1/2” strips solid or neutral fabric
  • 2 - 4 1/2” x 20 1/2” strips solid or neutral fabric
  • 20” square solid or neutral fabric
  • 4” x 20” strip solid or neutral fabric
  • lining fabric
  • batting
  • zipper

*Finished size: 20” square pillow form

Gather and trim 30 - 2 1/2” squares printed fabric and 16 - 2 1/2” square solid or neutral fabric.

Lay out squares as shown. Several of the squares will be half squares triangles when finished but just get the general layout of fabrics out in rows.

Sew 10 of the squares into half square triangles. Press towards darker fabric. Sew the fabric squares into rows as shown. Pressing each row in opposite directions, then sew the rows together for the center square.

Sew the 4 1/2” x 12 1/2” strips to each side of the square. Trim any excess off the ends. Sew the 4 1/2” x 20 1/2” strips to the top and bottom and square up panel to a 20” square.

Sandwich pieced pillow top, batting and backing fabric and quilt as desired.

Trim backing fabric and lining fabric into:

1 - 6” x 20” piece

1 - 14” x 20” piece

Sew the backing fabric to the lining fabric together, wrong sides together and overcast the edges. 

Trim the zipper flap fabric to 4” x 20”. Fold in half and press. Sew zipper flap to the smaller backing piece along one long edge. Sew one side of the zipper to the top piece of the backing and the other side of the zipper to the bottom panel.

Pin and sew the backing to the front panel. Be sure to unzip the zipper halfway so the pillow can be turned right side out.

Mama Elephant Designer Series | Carried Away + Rainbow High Birthday Card

Hello everyone! Today I have a Designer Series card featuring the new Mama Elephant Carried Away Stamp Set, Carried Away Creative Cuts Dies, and Rainbow High Creative Cuts Dies. I love how easy it is to create high flying scene cards with these amazing new stamps and dies!

I started this birthday card by building the background of the scene first. I die cut two A2 sized stitched rectangle panels from smooth white cardstock using a Peek A Frame Creative Cuts Die. From one of the panels I die cut a cloud border using a Landscape Trio Creative Cuts Die. I die cut some additional clouds from smooth white cardstock using the Rainbow High Creative Cuts Dies and die cut a rainbow from white cardstock as well.

On the background panel I applied Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I also applied the Tumbled Glass Distress Ink very, very lightly to the bottom of the Landscape Trio panel and clouds.

For the rainbow, I trimmed apart each section and then applied Festive Berries, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, and Milled Lavender Distress Inks to the rainbow and set them aside. For the small red heart from the one small cloud, I applied Festive Berries Distress Ink.

On the cloud border along the bottom of the card, I stamped a greeting from the Carried Away Stamp Set in Intense Black Ink. The balloon, boy, bunny, and balloon string from the Carried Away Stamp Set were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock and colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. 

Here are the marker combinations I used for the images :

BALLOON: 036, 032

BOY: 071, 072, 026, 036, 032, 021, 022, 090, 097

BUNNY: 090, 097, 026

Once the ink was dry, I die cut the images with the coordinating Carried Away Creative Cuts Dies. I assembled the card as shown and finished the design with a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh sequins and mini gold star confetti.

Simon Says Stamp March 2016 Card Kit | "Marshmallow Hugs" Peeps Card + GIVEAWAY

Yesterday I shared a card showcasing the March 2016 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit HERE and today I've got another one! I just can't get enough of the My Kind of Peeps Stamps and Dies included in the kit!

I created the peeps for my card first. I stamped the medium sized bunnies from the My Kind of Peeps Stamps Set on watercolor cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I watercolored the peeps with Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, and Milled Lavender Distress Inks and let them dry completely before die cutting with the coordinating My Kind of Peeps Dies. I colored over the peeps with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Marker for the sugared look.

For the backgorund, I die cut a patterned paper from the kit with a Stitched Rectangle Die and then die cut the light yellow cardstock from the kit with two of the Stitched Rectangle Dies to make a frame. I adhered the bunnies to the patterned paper rectangle and trimmed off any excess that hung over the edges.

I stamped the greeting from the My Kind of Peeps Stamp Set on vellum using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I die cut the greeting with a Stitched Circle Die and adhered it along the bottom edge of the background as shown, trimming off the excess.

I secured the decorative rectangle panel and frame together using foam adhesive and secured the entire thing to a side fold card base. I finished the card with a scattering of the Sunshine Mix sequins mix from the kit.

I'm over on the Simon Says Stamp Blog today with this adorable peep-themed card created with the My Kind of Peeps Stamps and Dies, the Sunshine Mix sequins, cardstock, and patterned paper from the March Card Kit.

I covered the front of a side fold card base with the stripe patterned paper from the March Card Kit. The largest sized peeps from the My Kind of Peeps Stamp Set using Twirling Tutu, Melon, Duckling, Willow, and Maliblue Inks. I added faces to each of the peep bunnies using the Intense Black Ink. The images were die cut with the coordinating My Kind of Peeps Dies.

Using the bunnies as a guide, I die cut the white cardstock from the kit with the largest Wavy Scallop Die along the top and bottom. I stamped a greeting along the top using the Intense Black Ink and Maliblue Ink.

I gave the peeps some bow ties by stamping the image from the My Kind of Peeps Stamp Set with Intense Black Ink and coloring them in with Copic Markers. After die cutting the images with the coordinating My Kind of Peeps Dies I adhered each bow tie to a bunny with a bling glue dot. 

The scallop border was adhered to the card base with foam adhesive and finished with a scattering of Sunshine Mix sequins.

To finish the inside of the card, I stamped an additional greeting and small stamped peep bunnies from the My Kind of Peeps Stamp Set with Intense Black Ink, Melon, Duckling, and Maliblue Inks. I added detail to the eyes with the Sakura Black Glaze Pen.

Mama Elephant | Space Bears "You're Out of This World" Card

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing new Space Bears Stamps and coordinating dies. Distress Paints and white embossing make the perfect space background and white stitching around the edges of the Pizazz Pieces Die give a nice finished edge.

For the galaxy background, I dabbed Chipped Sapphire, Peacock Feathers, Squeezed Lemonade, and Cracked Pistachio Distress Paints on the Ranger Craft Sheet and spritzed the paints with water. I pressed watercolor cardstock into the watered down paints. Once the background was dry I pressed the background into Picket Fence Distress Paint for the look of stars in the galaxy.

When the panel was dry, I die cut the panel with the A2 sized Pizazz Pieces Die. I  stamped a greeting and stars and planet images from the Space Bears Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and heat set with white embossing powder.

I sewed around the edges of the Pizazz Pieces panel with white string and a needle.

I stamped the bear, balloon, and rocket from the Space Bears Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and colored in the images with Copic Markers. I cut the images out with scissors and adhered them to the space scene. I added detail to the balloon string and eye of the bear with the Sakura Black Glaze Pen, sparkle to the balloon with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen, and gloss to the space helmet with Glossy Accents.

I adhered the space scene panel to a top fold card base with foam adhesive.

Mama Elephant | Labeled Messages "Dream Big You're Worth It" Card

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the Labeled Messages Stamp Set. This wonderful greeting set is the perfect addition to almost any card. I paired the "You're Worth It" greeting with stamps and images from the new Space Bears Stamps and coordinating dies. Distress Inks and the Dotted Detail Frame and Border make the perfect accessories to this space scene card.

To create the background, I die cut the Dotted Detail Frame from watercolor cardstock twice. From one of the inside rectangle pieces I die cut a border with another Dotted Detail die.

A greeting from the Space Bears Stamp Set plus some other images were stamped on the background rectangle using Versamark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I applied Chipped Sapphire, Peacock Feathers, and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks over the stamping and continued the inking onto the Dotted Detail frame. I applied Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso Distress Inks to the border and bottom edges of the frame. I spritzed the pieces with water from a Distress Sprayer, let it sit for about 30 seconds and then blotted the pieces dry with a paper towel.

I stamped the bear from the Space Bears Stamp Set on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and colored in the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers before die cutting with the coordinating dies. I added additional detail to the eyes with the Sakura Black Glaze Pen and then applied a layer of Glossy Accents to the "space helmet".

While the Glossy Accents dried, I stamped a greeting from the Labeled Messages Stamp Set on white cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I trimmed around the greeting and adhered it to the background panel as shown.

I die cut another Dotted Detail frame from Fun Foam with Stick It on both sides. I adhered the panel to a top fold card base, adhered the Fun Foam frame around the scene and topped the foam with the Distress Inked frame.

I adhered the bear to the scene and finished the card with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Iridescent Mini Star Confetti.

Simon Says Stamp Reason To Smile | Sending Hugs & Prayers Card

Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp Reason To Smile Blog Hop! The release has stamps, dies, embossing powders, and even FELT!  Yes, felt :)  Made in Italy, It's the most perfect felt for die cutting! 

I stamped and embossed the beautiful floral and butterfly images from the Friendship Blooms Stamp Set and watercolored the images with Distress Inks. I textured tone-on-tone background made with Embossing Paste and the Simon Says Stamp Grid Stencil. An embossed greeting on vellum is understated yet elegant.

To create the tone-on-tone textured background, I die cut a stitched rectangle from smooth white cardstock using the largest SSS Stitched Rectangle Die. I masked off the edges of the panel from the stitching line to the edge of the panel using post it tape. I applied white embossing paste over the SSS Grid Stencil using a palette knife. I let the embossing paste sit for about an hour while I did something else and then I removed the post it tape.

I stamped the florals and butterfly from the Friendship Blooms Stamp Set on watercolor cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I applied Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks using water and a paintbrush. The leaves and stems were colored with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks and the butterfly with Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. The embossing helps keep the ink inside the lines. Once the ink was completely dry I die cut the pieces with the coordinating Friendship Blooms Dies.

The florals were arranged on the textured panel using liquid adhesive.

I stamped the greeting from the Friendship Blooms Stamp Set on vellum using Versamark Ink and heat embossed the greeting with white embossing powder. I trimmed the vellum into a strip and secured the strip over the panel with the Tiny Attacher.

The panel was secured to a top fold card base with foam adhesive and the design finished with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.
