Welcome to the Hero Arts 2016 Catalog Blog Hop! The new release is available in the Hero Arts Online Store and other online and local retailers.
I am loving the new 2016 Hero Arts Release. I am so excited to see that Hero Arts has added to their Color Layering Line with the awesome Color Layering Goldfish Stamp Set (I'll be sharing a card with these soon!), new Neon Ombre Inks, fabulous new backgrounds like the Confetti Bold Print, and the new Stamp and Cuts, like the Butterfly Stamp and Cut, are always some of my favorites. Today I'm sharing a Mother's Day Card with the Butterfly Stamp and Cut Set but this could just as easily be a "thank you", "congratulations", "get well" or many other greetings card just by changing out which greeting you stamp with the butterflies. I love cards that can work for almost any occasion, don't you?!
To create the background for my card, I die cut watercolor cardstock using the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches background die and then applied Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar Distress Inks to the panel with an Ink Blending Tool before spritzing with water from the Distress Sprayer. I let the water sit for about 30 seconds and then blotted the background dry with a paper towel.
I inked up the Hero Arts Alphabet Soup Bold Prints Stamp with the Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar Distress Inks and stamped over the background to mimic the light to dark look of the panel.
For the butterflies, I inked up the two images from the Butterfly Stamp and Cut using the Hero Art Ombre Neon Red to Purple Ink and stamped the large butterfly once and the smaller butterfly image three times.
I die cut the images with the coordinating Butterfly Stamp and Cut dies. I love that these are just a partial die cut which give the wings of the butterflies movement and show a peek of the paper placed behind the panel! A bit of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Marker adds some shimmer an shine to the butterflies.
I applied Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, and Spun Sugar Distress Inks to another piece of watercolor cardstock to place behind the front panel.
I stamped a greeting from the Butterfly Stamp and Cut using black dye ink. I adhered a piece of vellum behind the front panel and then adhered foam adhesive and attached the back Distress Inked panel before adhering the whole thing to a white top fold card base.
I finished the card with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh sequins and some clear gemstones.
