Welcome to the Spring Plush Release Blog Hop!
The release has a stamp set that was a collaboration with Neat & Tangled, lots of Plush dies, and even more beautiful felt! Made in Italy, It's the most perfect felt for die cutting! The plush dies are great with felt, but also work beautifully on paper and some select thin fun foams (these thin foams like this work great!) There are coordinating items in the Simon store that work beautifully with felt too!
I love the idea of creating a whole bunch of these adorable stuffed felt ornaments to decorate for spring and Easter or to tie to gifts. These are so easy and addicting! I started my felt ornament collection with the Plush Baby Bunny, Springtime Chick, and a Springtime Basket filled with Plush Little Carrots!
For the Plush Baby Bunny, I used some cream wool felt for the bunny and ears and decorated this little sweetie with some pretty florals from the Springtime Basket collection die cut from some pretty felts and stitched to each side of the bunny's body. Pink felt stitched to each ear add detail and eyes sewn with embroidery floss using a french knot on each side give personality to the bunny. The ears and bunny's body are filled with some polyester fiberfill. I finished the ornament with silk ribbon tied around the neck and a length of twine to "hang" or "tie" the ornament.
The Springtime Chick was created much the same as the bunny, only die cut from some of the new 3 Shades of Sunshine Felt. I stitched some florals from the Springtime Basket collection to each side of the chick's body and added french knot "eyes". I finished the ornament with a length of twine to "hang" or "tie" the ornament.
The Springtime Basket was die cut from cream wool felt and adorned with felt florals from this die collection and a larger floral from the Plush Button Egg Dies. The handle of the basket also serves as the "hanger" for this ornament.
I filled the felt basket with these sweet Plush Little Carrots die cut from peach and green felt and stuffed with polyester fiberfill.
