Welcome to the debut release of Whimsy Stamps newest artist/illustrator Nina-Marie Trapani! Nina-Marie has created 4 new clear stamp sets and 2 new Shapeology crafting dies to complement the stamp sets. Each day this week our design team and special guests will be sharing the new products and then on Friday, March 11th customers will be able to purchase them from the Whimsy Stamps Shop.
I can't get enough of the super cute Whimsy Stamp *Sketched Elephants Stamp Set (see yesterday's post) so I decided to pair another cute pachyderm with greetings from the *Hand Lettered Encouragement Stamp Set.
I die cut a rectangle from watercolor cardstock using a *Hand Stitched Rectangle Die and stamped greetings from the *Hand Lettered Encouragement Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I stamped the grass and an elephant from the *Sketched Elephants Stamp Set using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink before watercoloring the image with a paintbrush dipped in water and the Hickory Smoke Distress Marker, Picked Raspberry Distress Marker, and Black Soot Distress Marker.
I watercolored the flower with the Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, and Mowed Lawn Distress Markers. I added color to the background with the Salty Ocean Distress Marker and color to the "ground" with the Twisted Citron Distress Marker and Mowed Lawn Distress Marker. The color over the greeting shows the embossed resist technique.
Detail was added to the eyes with the Sakura Black Glaze Pen and white dot details add a whimsical feel to the cheeks of the sweet elephant.
I used the two largest *Hand Stitched Rectangles Dies to die cut a frame from Slate Cardstock. I adhered the frame to a side fold card base and adhered the watercolor panel to the card as well. I finished the design with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Silver Mini Stars adhered with Ranger Multi Medium.
