Simon Says Stamp May 2016 Card Kit | "You Are My Sunshine" Card + GIVEAWAY

Happy weekend! On this last day of April I've got another card share showcasing the May 2016 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit! The cute sunshine and cloud from the Happy Days Stamp Set are perfectly framed up with the Stitched Circles and Stitched Rectangles Dies.

The frame was created from a piece of white cardstock using the Stitched Circles and Stitched Rectangles Dies. I die cut the Surf Blue cardstock from the kit using the circle die.

I trimmed down and adhered a patterned paper from the kit to a side fold card base. I matted the white frame on a piece of Green Apple cardstock using foam adhesive. I replaced the light blue circle inside the frame.

I stamped the sun and cloud on smooth white cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and colored in the images with Copic Markers. I stamped the thought bubble and greeting and then fussy cut all three shapes.

I adhered the images to the card as shown and finished the design with a scattering of sequins from the May Card Kit.

Concord & 9th Guest Designer | Crazy Cat Ladies Unite Card

With all the adorable cat themed stamps out there, I'm sure you know someone, several someones or even yourself who loves the furry little felines! I know I have several kitty loving friends and I love sending them cards featuring their favorite pet. I'm so excited to be guest designing again today for Concord & 9th with a card showcasing the You Crazy Cat Stamp Set with the Crazy Awesome Stamp Set. Isn't it crazy awesome how well these two sets work together to create adorable cards?!!!

I stamped the crazy circle from the Crazy Awesome Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I added the ears and the "cat ladies unite" stamps from the You Crazy Cat Stamp Set and then colored in the "cat" and banner with Copic Markers. Here's the markers I used:

CAT: E40, E43, E44, R00

BANNER: W00, W1

"CRAZY": R000, R00, R11, W00, W1

I added a "nose" to the cat with the heart from the You Crazy Cat Stamp Set with Simon Says Stamp Twirling Tutu Ink. I stamped the whiskers with black ink. I added some glitter pen to the nose and then finished with Glossy Accents.

For the black and white borders along each side of the center panel, I stamped the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripe on smooth white cardstock using Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink and then adhered the cat panel to the striped one, leaving a stripe on either side. I adhered the entire panel to a top fold card base and finished the front of the card with the trio of tiny hearts from the Crazy Awesome Stamp Set.

I continued the design on the inside of the card with an additional stamped greeting and the cat from the You Crazy Cat Stamp Set. I think this really makes the card! So cute and funny!

Simon Says Stamp May 2016 Card Kit | Sunny Days Ahead Card

To start my card I trimmed a piece of white cardstock from the kit to 4.25" x 5.5" and stamped the umbrella from the Happy Days Stamp Set using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I created a mask for the image by stamping the umbrella again on masking paper, cutting the image out and placing it over the umbrella. The first image stamped is going to be in the forefront of the design.

Next I stamped the umbrella image over and over again (using post it tape over the face when inking and then removing before stamping) to make the rest of the umbrellas "plain" without a face. I colored in the umbrellas with Copic Markers, reapplied the masks and inked the background with Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Inks using a Mini Ink Blending Tool. 

I stamped the raindrops from the Happy Days Stamp Set using the Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink, added "highlights" using a white Sakura Opaque Pen and finishing the raindrops with Glossy Accents.

I trimmed up the scene and added thin strips of black cardstock along the top and bottom of the design. I adhered the panel to a white top fold card base.

I stamped the thought bubble and greeting from the Happy Days Stamp Set on white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink, fussy cut the greeting and adhered it to the card with foam adhesive.

I finished the card with a scattering of sequins attached with Bling Glue Dots.

Concord & 9th Guest Designer | Crazy Awesome Card

Happy Saturday friends! I'm so excited to be guest designing today with a card showcasing the Crazy Awesome Stamp Set from Concord & 9th! I love how the elements from this stamp set mix and match to create any number of different greetings and to top it all off the You Crazy Cat Stamp Set can be used with the Crazy Awesome Stamp Set for even more variety! (Be sure to check back next week for a card or two sharing these two stamp sets used together...)

I stamped the images from the Crazy Awesome Stamp Set on watercolor cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. 

The flowers were watercolored with the Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers Distress Markers and a paintbrush dipped in water. The leaves were watercolored with the Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Markers.

The inside of the circle is watercolored with the Cracked Pistachio Distress Marker and the circle outline with the Hickory Smoke Distress Marker.

The word "Crazy" is watercolored with the Lucky Clover Distress Marker and the word outline with the Twisted Citron Distress Marker.

The banner  is watercolored with the Hickory Smoke Distress Marker.

Once the ink was dry I trimmed three of the sides of the panel and adhered it to an Avery Elle Caribbean Collection Notecard. I finished the centers of the flowers with 4mm Sparkling Clear Sequins and added small gemstones to the center of each sequin.

Simon Says Stamp My Favorite Release Blog Hop | "Happy Birthday" Card

Welcome to the "My Favorite" release blog hop!  The new release has a set of watercolor cards, stamps and dies. 

One of my favorite stamp set from the new release is the Sketch Ranunculus. The gorgeous florals makes the prettiest cards!I colored in these amazing flowers with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers with a simple black and white diagonal stripe border for a striking card with bright, colorful flowers.

I stamped the flower images from the Sketch Ranunculus Stamp Set on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and colored in the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The color combinations are listed below:

PINK FLOWERS: Sugared Almond Pink 200, Peach Pink 202, Pink 025

RED FLOWERS: Carmine Red 022, Light Carmine 021

AQUA FLOWERS: Turquoise Green 042, Green Shadow 049

PURPLE FLOWERS: Purple 082, Light Violet 081

ORANGE FLOWERS: Orange 070, Yellow 050, Carmine Red 022

LEAVES: May Green 047, Yellow Green 053

I stamped a greeting from the Sketch Ranunculus Stamp Set on Black Cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed the image with white embossing powder. I trimmed the embossed greeting into a thin strip and attached it over one of the groupings of flowers.

I stamped the Diagonal Stripe Background Stamp on smooth white cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink. I adhered the flower strip over the stripe and adhered the whole thing to a side fold card base. I finished the greeting strip with some clear gemstones on either side of the embossed greeting.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Pix's Favorites "Thank You" Card

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the brand new Pix's Favorites Stamp Set and coordinating dies. A soft and pretty Distress Inked background and a hand stitched border perfectly accent the adorable Pix's Favorite images.

I stamped the bunnies from the Pix's Favorites Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and colored in the images with Copic Markers. I die cut the images with the coordinating dies and added detail to the eyes and glasses rims with the Sakura Black Glaze Pen and Glossy Accents to the noses and the lens on the glasses.

I die cut the background panel from watercolor cardstock using the postage stamp rectangle from the Peek A Frame Die Collection. I applied Shaded Lilac and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks to the panel using the Mini Ink Blending Tool. I spritzed the panel with water from a Distress Sprayer, let it sit for 30 seconds and then blotted it dry.

I die cut a border using a Fine Trimmings Die then stamped the greeting from the Pix's Favorites Stamp Set using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I die cut the other edge with the same Fine Trimmings Die and then stitched along each edge with some aqua thread. I love how this particular border die is great for creating a stitched border for a fun handmade touch. I attached the border with foam adhesive and then adhered the bunnies above the border.

I finished the card with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Iridescent Star Confetti adhered with Ranger Matte Medium.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Cub Cuddles "Thank You" Card

 Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the new Cub Cuddles Stamp Set and coordinating dies. I paired the adorable bears and greeting with the great new Hillside Cover Die. For the soft, dreamy look I colored in the background with four shades of Distress Inks and did a little no-line watercoloring to the bears and little birdie.

I die cut watercolor cardstock using the new Hillside Cover Die and applied Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar, and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks to the panel, blending well after each color. I spritzed the panel with water from a Distress Sprayer, let the water sit for about 30 seconds, and then blotted the panel dry.

I stamped a greeting from the Cub Cuddles Stamp Set on the background using the Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink.

I stamped a bear image and birdie image from the Cub Cuddles Stamp Set on watercolor cardstock using Antique Linen Distress Ink. I watercolored the bear with Gathered Twigs and Scattered Straw Distress Markers and a paintbrush. The birdie was watercolored with Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade, and Carved Pumpkin inks. Once the ink completely dried I die cut the images with the Cub Cuddles Dies.

I adhered the bears and birdie to the Hillside Cover Die background and then adhered the panel to a side fold card base. I stamped the grass image from the Cub Cuddles Stamp Set on either side of the bear using Twisted Citron Ink.

I finished the design with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Iridescent Star Confetti adhered with Ranger Matte Medium.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Organic Blooms

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the Organic Blooms Stamp Set. I've created a simple thank you, almost single layer card with this stamp set but this design works for almost any type of occasion. There are loads of great greetings in the stamp set and this design would make a great card set gift!

I trimmed a piece of watercolor cardstock to 5.5" x 4.25" and stamped the large floral image from the Organic Blooms Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I watercolored the flowers with Dried Marigold and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks, the leaves with Bundled Sage and Forest Moss Distress Inks and the smaller images with Mustard Seed and Fossilized Amber Distress Inks. When the flowers were dry I applied watered down Evergreen Bough Distress Ink around the image to really make the flowers "pop"!

I stamped a greeting from the Organic Blooms Stamp Set on a scrap of watercolor cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink, trimmed around the greeting, leaving a thin white border and adhered the strip to the watercolored panel. I attached the background panel to a side fold card base and finished the design with a scattering of mini pearls.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Monster Jam Card

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the Monster Jam Stamp Set and coordinating dies. The adorable monster with the heart beating out of his chest inspired my entire card. The Madison Avenue tags and frame perfectly complimented the monster and greetings!

I stamped the monster from the Monster Jam Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and colored in the image with Copic Markers before die cutting with the coordinating Monster Jam Dies. I applied Glossy Accents to the heart and set the image aside to dry.

I die cut the tags and frame from watercolor cardstock using the Madison Avenue Die Collection and applied Festive Berries and Spun Sugar Distress Inks to the frame and tags using the Mini Ink Blending Tool. I spritzed the pieces with water from a Distress Sprayer, let the water sit for approximately 30 seconds and then blotted the pieces dry. On the inside rectangle from the die cut frame I stamped the solid stripe image from the Basic Borders Stamp Set using Spun Sugar, Festive Berries, and Candied Apple Distress Inks, spritzed the pieces with water from a Distress Sprayer, let the water sit for approximately 30 seconds and then blotted the pieces dry. I stamped a greeting from the Monster Jam Stamp Set along the bottom of the striped rectangle using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and stamped the "boom boom" greeting on the frame tag.

I applied Stick It to both sides of a piece of Fun Foam and die cut the foam with the Madison Avenue Die Collection frame. I removed the backing paper from the foam frame and adhered the Distress Inked frame to the dimensional frame. I removed the other side of backing paper from the frame and adhered it to a top fold card base. I adhered the striped background inside the frame on the card base. I layered one tag on top of the other, slightly offset and adhered the monster "inside" the circle frame. I tied the tags together with silk ribbon and adhered them to the card with foam adhesive.

I finished the card with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh sequins and heart confetti.
