Welcome to the Whimsy Stamps April Release!
The products will be available to purchase on Wednesday April 13th along with our other product releases for April!
I had so much fun with the no-line watercoloring on THIS card that I used it again for this soft and sweet baby themed greeting card showcasing the new Baby Animals Stamp Set and coordinating dies. I used shades of pink for the card base, balloon, hearts, and dimensional die cut greeting but it would be super easy to switch out the color for blue or green for a baby boy card instead! These sweet little animals seem even softer, I think, when colored with watercolors. Perfect for a baby card.
I stamped the images from the Baby Animals Stamp Set and Sketched Elephants Stamp Set on watercolor cardstock using Antique Linen Distress Ink. I watercolored the images with Distress Markers and a paintbrush dipped in water.
GIRAFFE: Scattered Straw, Gathered Twigs, Ground Espresso, Picked Raspberry
PANDA: Pumice Stone, Black Soot, Hickory Smoke, Picked Raspberry
BALLOON & HEARTS: Picked Raspberry, Black Soot
I added detail to the eyes, noses, eyebrows, etc. with the Sakura Black Glaze Pen and highlights to the eyes with the Sakura White Gel Pen.
The giraffe, panda, balloon and hearts were die cut with the coordinating Baby Animals Dies and Sketched Elephants Dies.
I die cut the watercolor cardstock rectangle with the second largest Hand Stitched Rectangle Die and stamped the grass images from the Baby Animals Stamp Set with the Mowed Lawn Distress Marker and watercolored along the bottom edge to give the illusion of a grass border. I added watered down "sky" to the image with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.
I adhered the die cut watercolored images to the rectangle as shown. I die cut the word "baby" from Fun Foam with Stick It applied to the front and back to make it sticky and die cut the word again from watercolor cardstock. I applied Spun Sugar Distress Ink and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to the die cut word and adhered the inked word to the foam one.
I stamped "welcome" to the rectangle with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and then adhered the foam word below.
I finished the design by adding the panel to an Avery Elle pink card base.
