Welcome to the Hero Arts Summer 2016 Release Blog Hop!
The new release is now available in the Hero Arts Online Store. I am in love with the Hero Arts Color Layering Stamps and the newest additions are incredible! I created a sweet beach scene for the new Color Layering Flamingo Stamp Set and coordinating die.
I stamped the flamingo from the Color Layering Flamingo Stamp Set using the Hero Arts Soft Pink, Bubble Gum, and Ombre Pink to Red inks. I used the MISTI to help line up and get perfect placement. I stamped the eye/beak of the bird with the Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. Before stamping the legs on the flamingo I die cut the bird with the coordinating die and then stamped the legs with Hero Arts Bubble Gum Ink.
To build the background I die cut a couple of ovals from watercolor cardstock using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals Die. From one of the ovals I die cut two wave borders using the Lawn Fawn Wave Borders Dies and a "beach" with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Die. I punched a circle from watercolor cardstock. On the solid oval I applied Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, and Barn Door Distress Ink. On the circle I applied Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber inks. On the wave borders I applied Mermaid Lagoon and Salty Ocean Distress Inks. On the beach border I applied Antique Linen Distress Ink. I spritzed all the pieces with water from a Distress Sprayer, let the water sit for about 20 seconds and then blotted dry with a paper towel.
On the beach border I stamped the pools of water from the Color Layering Flamingo Stamp Set using Mermaid Lagoon and Salty Ocean Distress Inks and blended out the ink with a damp paintbrush. I applied a layer of Glossy Accents to the "water".
On the "sun" I stamped a greeting from the Color Layering Flamingo Stamp Set using black ink.
I adhered the sun, waves, and beach layers to the background oval and finished with the flamingo.
I die cut a frame from black cardstock using a Stiched Oval Die. I adhered the frame to a white card base using foam adhesive and replaced the center with the layered scene.
I finished the design with a scattering of clear droplets.
