Saturday I shared a couple of birthday cards with the new Say Yes To Donuts Stamp Set and coordinating dies. Today I'm pairing one of the donut images from that stamp set with the adorable little boy with the oversized coffee cup from the Big Bold Brew Stamp Set and coordinating dies. I'm really loving the black or gray and white diagonal stripe background look. I used a stencil and ink for my cards Saturday. Today I used the Lawn Fawn Stripey Backdrop and the inlay technique for these wide stripes. I love mixing and matching supplies from different companies for my cards!
I stamped the boy with the coffee cup, hearts, and coffee splash images from the Big Bold Brew Stamp Set and the girl and donut image from the Say Yes To Donuts Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I colored in the images with Copic Markers and die cut the images with the coordinating Big Bold Brew Dies and Say Yes To Donuts Dies. Detail was added to the eyes with a black glaze pen and sparkle was added to the hearts with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen.
For the circle background I die cut two circles from smooth white cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Circle Dies. From one of the circles, I die cut a border using a Simple Stitched Hillside Border Die. I stamped a greeting from the Big Bold Brew Stamp Set on the border using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I applied Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink to the background and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink over the border for embossed resist. I adhered the border to the background and then adhered the boy and girl images as shown.
For the background of the card I die cut a panel from white cardstock and Slate Cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Stripey Backdrop Die. I generously applied the Glue Glider Pro Permatac adhesive to the front of a top fold card base and adhered the white panel and then replaced the stripes with the Slate cardstock for an inlay background.
I die cut five circle frames from Black Cardstock using a Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Die. I adhered the background circle to the card base and then framed up the scene with five frames adhered one on top of another.
I finished the card with the coffee drips, hearts, and a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear 4mm and 6mm sequins and gemstones.
