Color Layering uses the technique of stamping progressively, building color and detail, resulting in an elegant, dimensional look. We've asked our talented group of artists to recommend their favorite colors to best highlight each Color Layering stamp set. The results have been developed into 4-cube ink packs, featuring the championing artist's name. While the inks were developed with a specific stamp set in mind, the packs offer wonderful and rich versatility; you'll find they work well with most any set and often produce stunning and unexpected results.
We've also introduced a fabulous new Color Layering stamp set with this release - the Color Layering Pineapple and coordinating Color Layering Pineapple Frame Cuts. There's also an ink cube pack for this set, Hero's Pineapple.
For my first card I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4" x 5.25" and built the pineapple background by stamping the color layering images from the Color Layering Pineapple Stamp Set using the Hero's Pineapple Inks. The colors included in the ink set are perfect for this awesome new stamp set!
To add some fun distressing to the background, I splattered Black Soot Distress Ink Reinker using a small paintbrush.
I trimmed a strip of vellum 1" wide and stamped a greeting from the Color Layering Pineapple Stamp Set on Versamark Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I adhered the strip over the background by hiding the adhesive behind the embossed greeting.
The background panel was adhered to a top fold card base using foam adhesive and I finished the design with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh sequins and tiny, tiny clear gemstones.
For my second card, I wanted to show how awesome the Color Layering Pineapple Frame Cuts work with the beautiful Color Layering Pineapple Stamp Set. I added a simple white on white stamped and embossed background and a gold embossed greeting for this pretty thank you card.
I stamped the base of the pineapple on smooth white cardstock using the Hero's Pineapple Inks, die cut the images with the coordinating Color Layering Pineapple Frame Cuts and then stamped the top of each pineapple.
For the background, I trimmed a piece of cardstock to 4" x 5.25" and stamped the entire thing with the Hero Arts Dot Moire Background using Versamark Ink and heat embossed the background with white embossing powder.
I trimmed a strip of vellum and stamped and embossed a greeting from the Color Layering Pineapple Stamp Set using gold embossing powder. I adhered the strip to the background, adhered the pineapples as shown and finished the design with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh sequins and some tiny, tiny gemstones.
I adhered the panel to a side fold card base with foam adhesive.

Your cards are gorgeous! I love the ink splatters on the first one. Every time I think of doing that after I spent so much time stamping and/or coloring it just makes me shiver. I'm afraid of ruining the whole thing with a big blob of ink.
